I'm thinking about coming up to Moncton for the day and then catching the game tomorrow night.. It'll be my first visit to Avenir Centre and I'm just wondering what to expect from the new facility? Any tips or tricks? Should I be there early sort of thing..
Also I'm fairly confident I can navigate through downtown Moncton just fine (I've been to Moncton plenty of times before) but when it comes to parking I might need some help from Wildcats fans, Any suggestions?

you can park along weldon st but there is some constuction going on, if you don't mind paying $ 5 or 10 you turn up weldon st. from main and there are a couple of lots (less than a block ) with guys standing out front with signs bring cash, st george st also but there is construction going on, not sure but people were parking around or across from the chis rock bar but you will have to walk a bit to get around the tracks and fence.
You will get scanned by security with a metal check and if you have a bag or purse they will ask to look inside, once inside you will not be permitted to leave and re-enter ( unless you have another ticket ). Alcohol is expensive $ 8.00 for a 16 ounce draft and $ 9.75 for tall boy can (mooselight products). There is an ice level bar which as long as you are 19 its first come for a spot along boards, sometimes they have a band there you can get to it from section 107.

If you are staying at any of the hotels downtown just park at the hotel & walk. Downtown isn't huge despite what many people feel is too much walking. If you arent staying downtown just park on any of the side streets near Avenir. If you arrive aftee 6:30 park on St George st. There's always spots there (free on weekends) and it's a short walk. Saves you time from looking on each side st. Would recommend eating somewhere before and you'll get much better value for your money than eating at the rink. The new Gahan house is a good spot and still walkable. Pumphouse or Old Triangle would be the more classic options but the pregame meal hasn't caught on much here compared to Halifax. St James Gate or Tide & Boar for a more upscale pub. Gusto for Italian. If you want to try something totally different go to Kanpai Izakaya which is a Japanese pub very close to Avenir with good beer selection. If you like craft beer you can visit Cavok, Flying Boats or the Pumphouse Fill Station for local taprooms. There's also a craft beer place near Avenir called The Furnace Room. Abit pricey and doesn't have food but good atmosphere on weekends & New Brunswick beer selection.

No hotel on this trip so hopefully I'll be able to find parking near the arena and not worry about much of a walk, I'll check out those spots you mentioned. Also, this trip is a quiet one but I wouldn't mind checking out some of the places you recommended for food however, I have a buddy living in Moncton so next time I visit him I'll remember those breweries and check those out! Thank you for the info, hopefully this is a better game then Thursday night lol..

Park on St. George St near to the Highfield St intersection. It's an 8 min walk to the front door from there. Free on street parking.

Dow and Rumsey both listed as injured on the lineup sheet Heard Rumsey is sick. L'heureux at the U17's. Not sure about Dow, maybe giving Wilson a look, he looked good, at least on offense.

Quite a different game than this week, both teams seemed to make a conscious effort to play defense first. Both goalies also made a lot of very good saves.

Wilson seems like a very nice skater and handled the puck well. Doesn't look like a 10th round pick. While Dow has looked promising this kid would seem to have some upside. Why aren't we carrying a spare dman ?

Wilson was drafted as a FW and seems to have converted to a defenseman in junior A. Certainly makes him a more intruging prospect as he showed some decent offensive skills last night.

I assumed that they would have added a free agent by now, but I assume they’ll just wait until Christmas now.
