After tonight’s game I see why the Cats need a player like Element , but if you think Sly will let him go for a third, or second with a castoff , it will not happen. I predicted Cats would be at least in league finals, look at post in first of Oct. They have everything except for a #1-2 dman , a-power forward, a a bit more toughness. Playing in a new venue, with everything in their favour, they need toughness. Are we even sure Element will be available? He seems like the kind of guy who would be very valuable to a young team the rest of this year, and perhaps more importantly next. If Riki and the Cats are both interested and bidding each other up, then I’m sure he will be moved once the price is right. If they don’t get enough value, I’m sure they’ll keep him. Good position to be in

Well it was a first for alot of things last night. First Titan victory this season, and the first time a player openly calls out his team this season for the Wildcats. Gotta love Cyr having the kahuna's to say "It's unacceptable, we shouldn't be losing to that team". Should set the tone of not taking any teams for granted moving forward and playing the way they should. Leaders speak truth and Cyr definitely deserves credit for calling a spade a spade. As a fan I hate going to the rink and seeing your team play as if they have the game already wrapped up based on skillset. This one is on Torchetti and the coaching staff. I don't know if he called a timeout when he saw the boys playing like sh*t, but if he didn't it's on him for not correcting it early. End of rant 🙂 Back to trade talk He had multiple timeouts of 45 seconds to no avail Both Cyr and Torchetti failed to give any credit to an opponent who very much deserved it. I don't think giving credit to anyone was an option for them after that game. When you perform you perform and when you don't you don't. Athletes and coaches know the difference between being beat and beating themselves. They could have been a little more politically correct and give a shout out to the Titan....but that would have been a poor attempt at masking the real problem. I'm glad the coach & Cyr were transparent and honest in their answers...sports has become too "let's not hurt anyone's feelings" for my liking and last nights comments were refreshing. I also understand you'd like to have the cherry on top of the win , by having the Cats say they simply got outplayed by a superior opponent or "we brought our A game and so did they, so the better team won"....but that wouldn't be accurate.

But what Cyr said is correct, a division leader and team that is aiming for a championship should not lose to a 0 win team. Yes the Titan earned the win but no matter how well the Titan play, the 2019-2020 Wildcats can play better than the 2019-2020 Titan.

That 5 minute call on Dube was a bogus one and luckily the Wildcats were unable to make anything of it BECAUSE of the Titan defensive PK play. That was what frustrated Torchetti more than anything else. 1 or 2 goals at that time could have reversed the tide and this is where the game was lost. We lost a lot of games on ref calls in the past against Moncton and the boys overcame that one.

We lost a lot of games on ref calls in the past against Moncton and the boys overcame that one. The call was for a head shot. Valid call from the refs. The game wasn't lost because the Cats didn't score on the ensuing 5 minute major....it was lost in the 2 weak goals and total lack of performance. Give the Titan credit they had to work hard to win this one, no one is disputing that. What is being disputed is the Cats effort and game readiness. At the end of the day Cats lost and Titan won, and there are no excuses, except there are. Two teams battle tooth and nail, back and forth both playing their best games and either one wins, that's ok. When 1 of those teams doesn't show up and are even called out for it by the coach and players then the loss is still a loss but you understand more clearly why it was a loss. It's humiliating for the organization to lose that way....you should understand this because aren't you a Titan fan? You played games like this last season I'm sure, where you played sh*tty and the boys got scolded and you yourself most likely lambasted them on your message boards about how they needed that wakeup call. This is no different...was it possible that we would lose that game? Yes. Is it clearly evident by those who watched the game and the following newspaper comments that the Cats blew it? Yes.

So you want Element so badly? Why not Groulx?

So you want Element so badly? Why not Groulx? I'm sure most people would probably prefer Groulx. Thing is Element probably goes around the value of a 1st or 2 2nds... Groulx is going to cost quite a bit more. The Wildcats.. in my opinion, need a defenseman and 2 wingers. Lavoie, Element and McIsaac to me would be an awesome trio of pickups. Obviously there are other good options out there, but McIsaac not wanting to play in Quebec gives Moncton a bit of an advantage, there's not going to be as big of a bidding war for him.

The league saw it and Dube played tonight Suspensions rarely occur over weekends ... especially long weekends. We may not see anything until Tuesday.

I can see the price gap between Groulx and Element being smaller than you think ... Groulx is the better player, but a pure rental. Element is likely a 1.5 year player.

If he played then there is no suspension coming. They would have given him an indefinite suspension until they had time to review it further It’s happened many times a suspension is handed out after a player has played a game or two especially with back to back weekend games. These days, the league has the ability to review the penalty call right away. And most games have League supervisors in attendance. A player won’t go a “game or two” with playing before being suspended.
