I think Groulx brings what the Cats like...but Lavoie on Khovanovs wing with Pelletier is a hell of a fit... And i really hate having 3 lefties on the same line when there are Lavoie quality rw available. Pelletier Khovanov Lavoie Fortier Cyr Mckenna Element Groulx Hudson King Stewart Foreman Aspirot Spence Andersson Macisaac Stewart Dejong Rodrigue Lund-Cornish. Thats 6 acquisitions + Aspirot returning...so lets call this a pipe-dream... That would likely guarantee a cup...but also a 5 year rebuild. Our last rebuild took 10 years.

If Quebec decides Riki is too strong and become a slight seller to retool for next year, who would be worth Pelletier as a future? Just speculating here, but I’m sure they would love to have him in his final year of junior, and I’m sure he’d love to finish his junior career in his hometown There is no one on Quebec’s roster that would help the team this year and is worth Pelletier as a future. Coxhead may make sense but he is FAR from being worth Pelletier.

No disrespect to Bourdon, but they probably should have used those assets on a center instead. Having a 17 year old Chabot as #2 center was less than ideal. they did win a Championship and would have also won the MC if not for Cedrick the Entertainer playing over his head. Completely agree! I felt the same way the moment the trade was announced. I spoke with Danny Flynn after the Bourdon and Torjdman deals were made, the other alternative they looked at was adding David Krejci and David Tremblay from Gatineau, but Bartulis would have gone back right away and they did not want to take from the D, also they were wanting Marchand right away, although that could have been negotiated. I remember thinking Tremblay was a good goalie also and an upgrade on we had already and man would I have loved to get Krejci as our #2 Center, but they went with the Bourdon deal. I think they also thought that Hanson was leaving NCAA and would have signed, but that fell through.

Hanson ended up with a pretty good senior year at ND and played a few games in Toronto. www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=73824

In my mind, Pelletier as a future is essentially the value of at least 2 first round picks, I’d argue more. Unless Quebec is sending back picks with Bibeau, there is no way I trade a guy who will a top player in the league next year for half a season of a 20 year old. Then it will also mean you have to trade for at least 2 defencemen instead of one top pairing guy.

Bibeau would be a real nice fit up front, but then you have to replace Huntley with a 19 year old D plus add another 1st pair d-man. Plus, Pelletier at the draft is worth more tan a half year of Bibeau.

I guess we bettter not get to ahead of outselves, Bathurst losing streak is over and our winning streak is over, I would say Khovanov is in the doghouse after his misconduct near the end of the game

After tonight’s game I see why the Cats need a player like Element , but if you think Sly will let him go for a third, or second with a castoff , it will not happen. I predicted Cats would be at least in league finals, look at post in first of Oct. They have everything except for a #1-2 dman , a-power forward, a a bit more toughness. Playing in a new venue, with everything in their favour, they need toughness.

Khovanov has fantastic talent but the torch has little control over him. That will be a major task for Tort to get him under control.Would love to go to Cattown again to watch league finals.

We need a top D for sure....Andersson can be a #1 and Spence a very good #3 but the WC need a top D without a doubt (McIsaac). And a stay home D like Horvath or Regis on our top 4, a D with grit....

Well it was a first for alot of things last night. First Titan victory this season, and the first time a player openly calls out his team this season for the Wildcats.
Gotta love Cyr having the kahuna's to say "It's unacceptable, we shouldn't be losing to that team". Should set the tone of not taking any teams for granted moving forward and playing the way they should. Leaders speak truth and Cyr definitely deserves credit for calling a spade a spade.
As a fan I hate going to the rink and seeing your team play as if they have the game already wrapped up based on skillset.
This one is on Torchetti and the coaching staff.
I don't know if he called a timeout when he saw the boys playing like sh*t, but if he didn't it's on him for not correcting it early.
End of rant 🙂
Back to trade talk

He seems like the kind of guy who would be very valuable to a young team the rest of this year, and perhaps more importantly next.
