D'Aoust has been a different player in the 2nd half. Seems to have more confidence to put it all together. He could have nice value at the trade period nest season if he continues to progress. Agree. they pretty much will have to trade anybody of value at midseason to rebuild. Hopefully they are putting together a list of FA to invite to camp.

I was saying the same thing after the Friday game. He handles the puck very well in traffic and is starting to score. I could see him having a big breakout next season. He has added some muscle since September but is still a little light, but all in all, he has been a great FA pickup.

I wouldn't be breaking up that third line of D'Aoust, Desnoyers and Hudson anytime soon.
Dominant performance last night by the Cats. The score is incredibly flattering for SJ. This was different than the previous trips to SJ where it was over as soon as the Sea Dogs scored one. Even when it was 3-0 you still had the sense the Cats would comeback as soon as they got that first goal.
Someone earlier was asking about the Sea Dogs goals...second, third and fourth goals Rodrigue had very little chance on. He also made a couple nice stops in the latter half of the third period. Nothing much to worry about there from a goaltending perspective.

He laid a huge hit last night that I would not have ever expected to see at the start of the year. Guess that Avenir gym equipment is paying dividends.

D'Aoust would get my vote for most improved player right now if there was a vote. As someone suggested, he is getting stronger physically which is helping him. At the start of the season he was just a weekling that couldn't handle the heavier guys along the wall.
It sounds like he had a recent growth spurt and that he is now starting to fill out and getting used to the higher level of play.
The Wildcats will need some players next year and in my view, unless someone makes an offer the Cats can't refuse they should keep him and he could be an excellent 20 yr old the following year.

D'Aoust is going to be an exciting player to follow for the next two seasons.

They are fine for now, but long term I prefer having pairs like Khovanov-Pelletier Cyr-McKenna and Groulx-Fortier and add a 3rd player, it gives the team a lot more depth and make the harder to shut down. They will face teams playing a lot tighter than SJ does and have to beat them in RIm Cb Chi She etc.

Depending on what they have left, they may have to move him for any "good" offer or better. They are already short a pile of picks and will only have a couple of big pieces to move for the rebuild. Don't want to see a 6 year rebuild...

I wouldn't want to see a six year rebuild either but I also wouldn't want to see a repeat of the 16-17 season where the Cats won 1 game after Christmas if my memory serves me right. That was painful to watch. I think we can agree that we'll only know what picks we have left come draft day 2020. Perhaps we'll get some good ones back.

Titan should have 5 or more players available but not high end skill.

Shots 27-9 and it’s 3-2 Dogs like come on..... Wow! Now 28 shots to 13 after 1 period and behind in the score. Now on the PK to start the 2nd period thanks to you guessed it, #31. Not a big fan of this post. (i'm sure the post was just frustration in the moment) #31 has hardly had any bad penalties this year that didn't offset. #31 has proven he is discipline when the games matter (19 Playoffs & u20's). #31 is averaging 2 ppg and is on pace for 110 overall. I wasn't always a huge fan of #31 but he has really learned to play with an edge without going over it. Not a liability at all!

Fair enough, he has done better this year but still has a long way to go. He is the most penalized Wildcats player when you look at the stats and I don't believe they include 10 minute misconducts. Look at Pelletier, he plays with an edge and only showing 6 minutes in penalties.

They are both hard working players that get results from their work ethic and smarts.
