If I was a sea dogs fan I would want to see one with Leehmus and one with Desroches.. I also noticed while watching the last 3 games is most of your defensively responsible forwards won’t be here next year in Deakin Poot and Durocher.. one thing with the last powerhouse you guys had your star forwards were 2 way forwards Joseph Highmore Smallman were all dynamic 2 way players. Your star forwards now remind me of the Islander forwards from the year you guys won. One player who will be a real nice player is young Roy I was impressed with him. Also what are your plans for Goalies next year? The Swiss kid gonna be your starter? One player who caught my eye was Burns but not for a positive thing but the other night he scored to make it 6-2 Islanders with a couple minutes left and he celebrated like his team was up 6-2 in game 7 does he always seem like a hot dog?

A wise coach once told me ‘offence wins games, defence wins championships’. I hope we find a defensive dimension to this team soon, or the rebuild could be in vain.

This team is missing leadership and heart. They are not going to win anything with this team. Blow it up next year and build around Roy and the next generation. I think its kinda funny how much SJ fans overreact and panic when the team goes through a tough stretch. This post will look hilarious in a years time.

I'm sick of hearing how young we are wait till next year Poirier vilenieve desroches burns Lawrence cajovic all have over 100 q games played they should NO what it takes thisis our core for the next 2 years. You might be sick of hearing it, but it doesn't make it any less true. Guys this is a near .500 team in what is an absolutely stacked conference. Innis will be a huge help next year in the top 4 and on the pk. They may need to make a move to acquire a couple 2 way forwards but they certainly have the assets to do so. I completely understand how tough the last 3 seasons have been but things really aren't as bleak as you think.

But if they don't bring in proper coaching next year this team is going nowhere but maybe mid-tier (by default because of the weak division)

All having over 100 games means for them is that most of them are 17. There's a reason there's a thing called a cycle...17yr olds don't win in this league. The odd one will stand out and be a part of a contending team. But for the most part they can't have the size, strength, and consistency to match up vs just as talented players with more size, strength, and experience. Might be no more short sighted fan base then this one when something doesn't go exactly as planned. Your team wins championships at their peak more then just about any other team but it never stops the whining come year 2-3 of a rebuild. Some of you clearly wouldn't know how to handle actually watching an average franchise every year.

I know what a cycle is and knew this team wasn't a contender this year. That's not the point I was trying to make. Their is NO excuse for not backchecking taking guys to the net and after 2 full years in the league these mistakes happen way too much all I wanted this season was to see improvement and I'm not seeing it.

I feel Cowan has a lot learn. He praises (18) sometime ago as a top player.8 shots on net against Charlottetown. If they were like the two early useless shots against Drummondville, well! (67) should not be with (18). Stairs can do much better with anyone else. Should't a center be feeding his wingers?
I cringed early seeing (13) + (54) together against a savvy team with (81) on board. Don't you think their coach knew exactly how to exploit this.
A team will only go so far with just average coaching regardless of talent. Can Cowan learn on the go? I wonder how the benchings will translate, hopefully not morph into player dissention.
P.S. I want to thank you posters for your dedicated efforts.

This has been talked about at length all season long. Everyone knew it was a bad idea to have 5 offensive 17 year old defense men surrounded by a couple of Average 18 and 19 year old D-men that on most contenders would be extra guys or in Jr A.
On top of that they have know true defense coach that played D at a high level.
Up front we have a few small guys that lose most puck battles and wont take the puck to the net.
Having said all that we are in pretty good shape going into next year with a few moves.
We haven't matched up well against Charlottetown all year. They seem to have our number. We weren't doing to bad until the 3rd against the Volts considering this was a 3 in 3 game. They quit when the Volts made it 4 - 2.
