I'm asking for 4 and 13. My gut tells me both Val d'Or and Gatineau want pick #3. I say sure, but for the following: From Gat--> Pick 4 and 13 From Val--> Pick 6 and 8 First to accept gets it. If neither do, have a last-(5)minute counteroffer ready for each team. No lose situation, as we just pick at 3 if nothing happens. I guess you can pick at 3 then, I can’t anyway that Gatineau would pay that to move up 1 slot. The Val d’Or deal is rich too but then you’re leap frogging 4 and 5 so it would cost more then Gatineau.

Which is fine. Have the back up offers ready, but no point in not asking high. If they have a target they really want, they may overpay.

When is the last time a team had the 3 top picks? Has it ever happened? I wonder if the novelty of that event might be a bit of an incentive for Gatineau at all. Definitely not enough for them to give up the 13th pick to move up one spot though in my opinion. And on it's own it wouldn't carry much value, but if they think they need to make the trade in order to get thec3 guys they want, it might be a bit of extra motivation for them.

Can't really see the purpose of trading down unless it's for high picks 2021. We don't need bodies, we need quality. I say just pick #3

With pick 23, we might get our hands on a 16 yo goalie or a project D or a forward that others missed. If the goal is to avoid dropping, stockpiling talent in every age group is important.

And getting another pick as an asset for an "all in" year is worthwhile. Only if you are confident you will still get a player you really like when you move back though.

Probably monthly parking passes. They weren't charging for the longest while.

That would be a good hire. He has alot of experience at all levels. Interesting that he was the opposing coach in our Memorial Cup final victory. Also PEI-born, NHL experience as a player and coach. Sounds very familiar!

I'll provide a little elaboration on this one. It's an interesting story and I was at that game in Charlottetown during the 94-95 season that you're talking about. So yes, the Saint John Flames were visiting Charlottetown to play the PEI Senators during the 1994-95 season. I just forget when the game was, but for whatever reason, the Flames were very short staffed. I'm sure that there were injuries, and also Calgary must have had a bunch of their regulars called up. Anyway, word came out either the day of the game or the day prior that Saint John was going to sign a couple of players to an amateur try out just to get through the game and they inked David Cameron and Rob Moffat to play just for the one game. Cameron's pro career ended in the AHL in 84-85. He played some senior hockey at this point and also coached Junior A in Summerside for a couple of years (there is another similarity to a favourite ex-Sea Dogs head coach who has had a lot of success in hockey). Both Cameron and Moffat were part of the Charlottetown Islanders Senior team that hosted and won the Allan Cup in 1991. I can remember going to a lot of that hockey as a kid and the Senior Islanders were a big, big deal on PEI before the Senators came to town in the mid-90s for three seasons. Both guys were studs on senior teams in the early 90s, but by 94-95, it's likely that both guys were just playing in the top rec leagues in Charlottetown. The Islanders played in the NB senior AA league, but I think they were done by the 92-93 season. I'm not sure if the team folded or if the entire league went under. There was a senior A league on PEI, but that had pretty much wrapped up around the same time A lot of curious onlookers took in that game they played, and it was kind of a unique story. I remember both guys got a handful of shifts. It wasn't just like they were signed and rode the pine all evening. Definitely an interesting hockey memory. Interesting that he was the opposing coach in our Memorial Cup final victory. Also PEI-born, NHL experience as a player and coach. Sounds very familiar! Ended his playing career with a 1 game stint with the SJ Flames.
