The Guay trade stunk like futures at the time.
Rimouski is one of the teams which have a tendency to leak futures on their trades Inniss is coming to SJ and the 2022 Rimouski 1st is going back.

With any signing, there's enough to the process that it can't be considered done until the paperwork is signed.
We've had players who made verbal agreements only to back out.

nbsource posted a rumor on the main board that we are acquiring Girouard from Drummondville. He's an 01 who should play 2 more years.

The interesting thing about Girouard is that he put up 20 points (7,13) in his last 26gp. Given that he had 1.5 seasons, it is entirely possible that this is the beginning of a growth arc.
The question I have is why would he even be available? He's clearly Drummondville 's 4th best Fw.

I'm not sure why the Volts would want to trade him unless he is part of a bigger deal or we have something they want. I can see why the Dogs would want him if the price is right. As you mentioned, he appears to be on the up swing, he has good size and will likely be a two season player if he continues improving.

Maybe they want a player like Orr or Savoie who better fits their future plans. Time will tell.

I was reviewing the Top 20 CSR list and compared them with Hockey Prospects list and most of the guys are pretty close on each list. Some are different by 2 or 3 spots.
Verreault is ranked number 2 on CSR and number #3 on HP and Mastrodomenico is the other way around 3 on CSR and 2 on HP.
A couple of guys I noticed there was a bit of a difference in ranking.
Savoie Samuel # 4 CSR and # 10 HP. Côté Justin # 6 CSR and #14 on HP Warren Noah # 9 on CSR and #22 for HP. Carruthers Leighton # 11 CSR and # 4 on HP. Mann Matteo # 15 on CSR and # 32 on HP.

Not meaning anything in a negative way, but you use every available source in player evaluation when it comes to this sort of thing. I subscribed to Hockey Prospects for the first time this year, and I find it very thorough and well put together. They clearly have a good group at work. It's the individual breakdowns that sets them apart - with descriptions of skating - competitiveness - and various skills. They are very in-depth, whereas CSR are basically just rankings. On the other hand, I do think that had the Hockey Prospects version come out three weeks earlier than the CSR Final Rankings - that there would have been a few more discrepancies. That's only an opinion - not an accusation. I will definitely continue to subscribe to Hockey Prospects in the future - and if it's OK to plug them here on this forum - they have my endorsement. Not at all suggesting any wrongdoing or anything like that. The CSR rankings are there for the benefit of all - even for the individual scouting fraternity.

The sweater lettering budget isn't big enough to draft Mastrodomenico

Swap the 4th and another pick for the 3rd.

Swap the 4th and another pick for the 3rd. I'd be cool with that.

If Gatineau is after 3, it is to take Savoie. 4 and 23 have to be part of any offer for it to make sense imo.

I'm asking for 4 and 13. My gut tells me both Val d'Or and Gatineau want pick #3.
I say sure, but for the following:
From Gat--> Pick 4 and 13 From Val--> Pick 6 and 8
First to accept gets it. If neither do, have a last-(5)minute counteroffer ready for each team. No lose situation, as we just pick at 3 if nothing happens.
