The Sea Dogs face the Wildcats for the next two (2) games in Moncton starting tonight and again Friday.
The Sea Dogs and Wildcats are meeting four times between now and Nov. 13. Could be some bad blood by the time they hit Saint John next Tuesday.
The Dogs are finally coming off their first regulation win and the Wildcats beat the Titan last weekend.
Which Dogs will show up this week? Hopefully the Sea Dogs build off last weekends win.

This is a big game. Need that 1st road win to get a little momentum. 3 of 4 points on the weekend was a good start but we're still not where we need to be. Moncton isn't quite into full rebuild mode just yet with a few key veterans returning. I suspect Jones will start tonight since Patenaude played both games on he weekend.

Or has something change since last month when Georgie seemed confident he'd be here? Either way, we desperately need 1 or 2 decent 20s. I'm not sure if all Universities can accept international students now or if it is just St Mary's. I would think that it would be all. Kotkov is probably not enrolled in University either but it is good news that they are allowing some kids into the country now to play. If Kotkov isn't going to be allowed into the Country then they need to make some decisions on our twenties quick. They don't appear to have confidence in Jones, seeing how Patenaude has started three in a row. We have and open twenty spot and Liam Leonard is good at his role but that isn't offense.
Your twenties should be in my opinion, A Number Goalie, a Top two or 3 D-man, and or a top two line forward. Jones might get his game together and become this for us.

That said, most large universities have them. There is a big list per province online that shows what schools are accepting international students. |

Held opponents under 3 goals ONCE. Not going to win many games that way. Hell we almost found a way to lose the game we kept our opponent under 3. This season is a complete shit show. We don't even know if there will be league playoffs, much less a Memorial Cup. I wouldn't go wasting assets trying to win games this year. I'd focus on getting proper coaching in place, especially for the defense. Let the young guys grow and develop in this "throw away" year. Then come out guns blazing in 2021-2022 season, assuming it too is not a disease factory of chaos. |

I'm torn, I really don't want to waste a bunch of assets on this year but I already wasted a bunch of dollars on two season tickets and don't think I can tolerate this crap for another year. |

I wouldn't want to spend much assets this year on 20s (in addition to those already spent and potentially wasted). At the end of last season it looked like at the very least we would have McDonald, Badalamenti, and Gould. I thought we might spend a little to upgrade on one of them but would have been fine with those 3 in a year that wasn't a true "go for it" season but one where we were hoping to at least contend for first in the division. It was mentioned last night that Moncton has an extra 20. I'm not sure how many other teams are in the same boat. But a lot of teams' 4th 20 (who could likely be acquired relatively cheaply given the current circumstances) would probably be our best unless Jones eventually finds his game again. Our current 20 year old situation is pathetic. I'd gladly take any of those 3 that were here last year if they were available. Most of our losses have been close and it's often the other teams' 20s that are a big part of the reasons they are beating us. Last night being another prime example. If we had any kind of quality 20 year olds, we'd start winning some of those close games that we've been losing. It's not necessarily about winning championships but about winning games and continuing the cycle in the right direction instead of taking a step back to the bottom after being mid pack last year. The expectations going into the season were clearly too high but they still were what they were and it's gotta be killing their confidence right now to be sitting at the bottom of the division after those expectations. I can't see that being very helpful for the players' development and transitioning this team into a contender for next season. There are a few 18 year olds that come to mind who seem to be lacking confidence right now and their game is suffering as a result. I'd love to get a true defense coach but for whatever reason they seem to think Cowan is acceptable for that role so I don't expect that to change anytime soon. |

Going into this season I remember some people saying we needed a 20 year old defenseman. I disagreed because we already have a lot of d-man that need playing time. I thought the acquisition of Inniss and everyone else being a year older would be enough. The only part I was right about was the numbers game. It would be hard to give everyone adequate playing time if a 20 year old d-mem was acquired but the team could definitely benefit from one. I thought there would be enough offence that a solid defensive/penalty killing 20 year old forward would be fine for a spot. It would be nice to improve in that department but it would also be nice to have a guy that can put the puck on the net now and then. We seem to have a habit of getting lots of shots and making opposing goalies look good. |
