I'll be honest. I can't see a situation where Moncton ends up with both Fillion and Lessard. I don't think we will see a future in this deal. Anything better than a 1st and Fillion is a home run IMO. Fillion is worth two 1st rounders alone. I heard Spence for Filion, 2023 1st and a mid pick. The 2023 1st smells like futures(Lessard? 2022 pick that BC got for Legare?)...

When does the World Junior trade embargo end? Are they waiting for this to end or is it really just rumours of hime being traded?

With covid its not really fair to a kid to not know wheres hes going to go. He'll need to quarantine 14 days.

He'd have to quarentine here first, and then quarentine again when he gets to his new team. Better to send him to his new team now.

Yeah, can’t be upset about this trade especially in the circumstances. It will be interesting to see if the pick does go back for Lessard in the end. What does the addition of Filion mean for Katz’s future with Moncton. Any chance they carry both next year?

If he is valuable, they could flip him for a high pick in June, possible 2nd like Depaties from que to Gat.

That asset will be as valuable as Bathurst’s 2019 1st.

Considering everything this is a fantastic return for the Cats Agreed - I am very surprised to see anyone willing to trade much of value for soon to be graduating players. I would put the odds of finishing a Q season at 50/50 - Quebec just announced another 4 week lockdown, I can't imagine them allowing even a bubble event during that time, and it looks like the Atlantic bubble will not be re-opening anytime soon. With OHL and WHL even further delayed and rumoured to be considering cancelling the season, a Mem Cup tournament looks even less likely.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall during draft week for some of these teams. I wouldn't be shocked if this agreement was in place all the way back to then. Which is why it would seem so expensive now.

I think ive seen Lalancette said it should not affect the QMJHL and i know if wont affect the NHL.

I think ive seen Lalancette said it should not affect the QMJHL and i know if wont affect the NHL. Governments are taking this stuff literally hour by hour. The NHL's go ahead could change instantly in any market depending on the situation. They technically still don't have the full green light from Ontario or Manitoba yet. That alone should tell you how touch and go this all is.

Looking through tweeter to see what the Quebec reports are saying about this I decided to go and look at some comments to the reports. A few people have said the the owner doesn’t care after this season what the team looks like because he’s going to sell it. So he’s putting the best team forward to go out with a championship whatever that might look like. Maybe nothing or it could explain the go for it mind set.
