It isn’t and the scary thing is will there even be a championship worth going for? So do you think it's an All Out Gamble...or are their compensation conditions ( ie: the amount or if they play any games for their new club ? ......if there is in fact a Shut Down of the Q ? If they do start back up and you win the Q but there is No Memorial Cup Tournament ...that has to be in the Back of Your Mind when you ante up for a Player .

Report is Stewart for Hamel a 3rd plus a pick or player that to me is a overpayment. Stewart is a one year player who won’t be back with this team unless he gets dealt for a asset next year. Hamel is basically a poor mans Stewart but is only 18 seems like a big overpayment to me. Stewart should be back in the Q next year, where he plays is up for debate. Still, it's not that much of an overpayment because teams will always be looking for experienced defensemen, you could probably get a 2nd back for him at the draft if he plays well enough, that, or keep him and trade Laaouan for a bigger haul. It opens up some options for sure.

As much as Hamel was a fan favourite, and rightfully so, he was constantly getting buried the last two years. Say we don’t trade Hamel, and still pick up Stewart...well now Anthony is sitting in the press box most of the year

Welcome Sean.
A great addition to the backend...with Comier, Laaouan, Plandowski and Trudeau on the top 4....Maynard and Stewart will make a great bottom pairing. Love the D.
Cormier - Laaouan Plandowski - Trudeau Maynard - Stewart

Hate seeing Hamel go honestly .... hopefully season is able to resume and conclude with a deep playoff run I was a fan of The Hammer....but in all honesty, with the new fighting rules in place....I believe he already has 2/3.....I'm not sure what else he brings.....yes, he is a tank and hits hard...reason as to why I like him....... but he also misses often and gets caught out of position. They added a veteran defensive dman....to play a safe game and get the puck out of the zone... The team has toughness....as much as is needed this day in age anyhow.... As mentioned, I am a fan of Hamel....but our D is now improved....and imo, they were the best Dcore in the Division before the deal.....but now they are even more solid........and all eligible to return next season.

I think if the season continues and we have a full playoffs this deal will be a excellent one but if things get cancelled and he doesent come back as a 20 this is a bad deal.

He had one in pre season
I don't dislike the addition at all.... i agree it makes the team better and the dcore is terrific...... tho its not likely all will return next year.... you would never bring back 3 20 year old blueliners
all i'm saying is i hope the team is actually able to compete for whatever the presidents Cup will be this year... i'm not at all convinced that will happen but heres to hoping

The thing that scares me is if we go all in and there no mem cup or not a Qchampionship for that matter. Right now we could tweak and build a even stronger roster for next season when hopefully fans will be allowed in.. would be great to have a strong championship contender when the season comes that the world ole s up again.. people will be eager to enjoy outings and if the Isles were a strong contender it may be a great chance to get new fans to be hooked to the product. Right now there really is no end in sight and it seems like a waste to go for it and your fans not able to enjoy it. But either way I Stand behind the franchises choices and miss being at the rink have t had season tickets for a few years because of young kids but guaranteed when things get back to normal we will have season tickets again!

You can be aggressive this yr but be smart, and contend next year too. So far Hulton has done that. Peach will be a 20 next year with Budgell and likely Laaouan. Stewart can give you guys something this year and at the very least, give Hulton options next season for his 20s. Or you recoup a pick for Stewart and move on. If you guys can grab another two top 9 forwards, maybe one a guy who's back next year and one who's a rental, you're in as good a shape as anybody this year and next.

I see the islanders Facebook page post pictures of the two new players in islanders gear, I see peach has number 28 on him, does that mean drew Johnston is getting sent home or traded?
