But are you sure that there will be a "next year" ? I think it is all up in the air right now with the new variant. We haven't even seen the vaccination rollout make any difference yet, although I am not expecting that it won't, given time. I have heard many educated people say that being back to "normal" may still be 2-3 yrs away, and it probably won't be normal. Being at large gatherings may not be something that we all want to do anymore. I think an "all in" approach this year is a bit reckless. Or, maybe they feel the league will die in the new normal, and so thinking about your future is pointless. I have heard comments from several teams saying we can play in front of reduced crowds this year, but we can't do it a second year. I dunno. The vaccine rollout was never going to happen fast so unless you're in health care there wouldn't be any difference really noticed yet. We're on track to vaccinate most Canadians by the end of September I believe. Talk about Canada and the US basically getting back to normal at the same time with concerts and large events happening, with masks, in Q4 after herd immunity is achieved. I think the league moves the calendar next year with a full season starting in November/December which should be fine with normal attendances if the vaccine rollout goes as expected. actually we are only vaccinating at a rate of 1.5 doses per 100 people.... the dosage is 2... This is according to the globe and mail this morning... we're behind and the next shipment of the vaccine is delayed. i don't think the majority of canadians will be vaccinated until 2022

Our government message has been consistent about it for the last few months with little change on the timeline. Here's some examples of what I mean: From November: Trudeau feels most Canadians could be vaccinated by September 2021 www.cp24.com/news/trudeau-feels-most-canadians-could-be-vaccinated-by-september-2021-1.5207372From December: All Canadians who want a shot will be vaccinated by September 2021, public health agency says www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadian-vaccines-september-2021-1.5844314From last week: Justin Trudeau says that Canada will have enough COVID-19 vaccines for everyone by the end of September www.thestar.com/politics/federal/2021/01/12/justin-trudeau-says-that-canada-will-have-enough-covid-19-vaccines-for-everyone-by-the-end-of-september.htmlI'm sure the timeline talk will change if the shipments don't ramp up as expected but I won't be shocked if normal folks here are getting vaccinated in 6-7 months.

Is the deal done, or would one of the 1st be coming back?

Is the deal done, or would one of the 1st be coming back? Two firsts, 2 and 3 drafts away often suggests futures but the nature of Charlottetown going after a two year guy you would think they wouldn’t want to be giving up an important piece after this year... Maybe a 20 year old as a future? I would think Phoenix would rather keep the first but you never know.

Thing if it is if the Isles are all in next year there won’t likely be a impact player going there next year unless one goes the following draft for a pick?

I know the TWO 1st may be hard for some to swallow.....but to have a player like Guay for POSSIBLY 2.5 years.... is pretty nice.

I’d say the team is looking to be all in next year so can’t see us sending Trudeau this draft but maybe after next season?

Not as hard to swallow when you think that as a 5'9" player it's very unlikely Guay plays pro at 20. You can probably turn around and trade him at the 2022 draft for a 1st round pick.

Really shouldn't be hard to swallow for anyone paying attention to Hulton's GM work it's far different from when Sonier came in and tossed draft picks around like candy we've traded our own first round picks for 4 straight drafts now but have never dropped significantly in the standings under his tenure..... about the only weakness of his at the trade table has been his penchant for tossing mid round picks at veteran dmen who wind up being unable to play a regular shift

So are we done with moves for this trade period? I would say we are unless we can acquire another top 6 18 year old with Drummondvilles first

So what does the team look like post-trade period?
Leblanc-Budgell-Casey Desruisseaux-Guay-Peach Elliot-Beauregard-Gallant Boyd-McCarthy-Oliver
Cormier-Laaouan Trudeau-Plandowski Stewart-Virtue Maynard-Tremblay
Ellis Goobie
Certainly an upgrade after the trade deadline.
