Here is what the roster could look like next year barring major trades:
Forwards: Labelle(19)-Daoust(20)-Langlois(19) Loshing(17)-Cloutier(18)-Barbashev(18) Euro pick(2021) Richard(19)-LeBlanc(18) 2021 1st round(VD) Casey(17) Rozzi(17) Stammer(19) Daniel(18) Mercer(17)
Defense: Olson(19)-Pilotte(18) Hamel(19)-McKinney(19) Pavan(18)-Iasenza(17) Hopkins(17) Darcy(18) Dollemont(17) Desrosiers(18) Nutbrown(18)
Goalies: Filion(17) Sheehan(18)/Dimattia(18)/Katz(17)
4th OA spot: Bernier(20) Stewart(20) Trade for a D?
I expect a lot of FA's again to be brought in to challenge guys like LeBlanc Richard Mckinney Sheehan Daniel Hamel.

Next year, in an ideal world, a few of the 19 year olds have big years and you can move them for a high pick, plus Daoust who should be a very good OA assuming he returns.
I think they may shop for a cheap character OA and possibly a veteran 19/20 year old goalie for experience. Those spots will be impacted by how they play the rest of the year.

A cheap Charater overager would be Zac Beauregard

I agree with you on the character OA - likely a d-man would be best, IMO, and also a veteran goalie to split the load with Fillion. Perhaps Sheehan can be that guy - it is so hard to tell this year, with such limited action, who is progressing well and who is not. Not bullish on the trade value of our crop of 2002 players - I expect there will be more of them ending up in Jr A than there will be turning into solid trade commodities. Our '02 depth chart (and for that matter '03s) looks pretty thin - but again, it is hard to say who might be a diamond in the rough who progresses more than expected - this is looking like a lost season. I figure best case we manage to get another dozen or so games in.

It could change but if I was betting, right now, he’s not coming.

I’m guessing the same, you don’t go back to Stanstead if you plan on playing in the Q. Especially when you can play at 16.

It's disappointing that the Wildcats *still* continue to gamble away precious high picks on guys playing prep at 15 who are known to be leaning NCAA or "undecided". It almost never works out for us, why are they so opposed to making a safe pick in that position with a slightly lesser player instead of going for homeruns all the time or going way off the board?
If we had an abundance of top 3 round picks and could afford to roll the dice with one, great, but we never seem to be able to put ourselves in that position.

If they lose Hopkins and Rozzi that will definitely be a big blow to the rebuild. 2 of the top 3 picks on the heels of the Covid thing last year.

Both of these guys were present for the draft were they not ( I know it was virtual) They put on Wildcats jerseys sent to them and did interviews, doesn’t speak to NCAA hold outs who don’t even bother to be a part of the draft unless they are holding out for a certain team. Typically when teams take flyers on players not likely to report they aren’t even in contact with the team let alone do interviews on the upcoming season and take pics in Wildcats jerseys.? So disappointing how many pics we throw away, if we could hit on 2nd and 3rd rounders like we do late rounds pics man we would be good sooner than later. I know the 10th rounders on the team now are not franchise players but I have been very impressed by the hustle and hard work of all these late round kids giving us entertaining hockey games. The Wildcats are already paper thin this year in what I would consider to be year -1 of the rebuild LOL, but then to boot you are missing anywhere from 3-5 of your top 6 forwards at any given time in a shortened return to play time ( Labelle, D’Aoust, Loshing, Barbashev, Bernier) it’s a damn miracle we have enjoyed decent hockey against Saint John with more 1st round pics on their team in their second, third and fourth years than most get in a decade and Bathurst on year 2? Of their rebuild.

Of their rebuild. Lacroix deserves a lot of credit for making this roster look competitive most nights. This team has no business in a close game with the sea dogs or titan while their team is filled with callus and 2 of the top offensive players out. Hopefully they can lock him up long term. Sure hope we don't lose out on both Hopkins AND Rozzi. Situations like that cost additional draft picks down the road when the team is on the upswing.

Hopkins and Rozzi not showing is a huge blow. Obviously this was the suspicion with them not showing this year. I did remain hopeful because the Cats actually announced they signed them and they were coming

A different perspective after playoffs...
Labelle(19)-Daoust(20)-Langlois(19)-should be a great 2 way line if Labelle has no recurring issues. Daniel(18)-Cloutier(18)-Barbashev(18)-all 3 looked good after the restart, Daniel is not flashy but works his butt off every night. Loshing(17)-Richard(19)-Euro pick 2021-Loshing needs to get bigger and stronger. Richard played very well down the stretch, could be swapped with Cloutier or Daniel on 2nd line.
After that it's pretty wide open, I expect more FA coming in plus 2021 draft picks.
Bernier(20) at times looked good, others he was invisible. 2nd and 3rd OA's are up in the air. Stewart(20) might be 3rd OA by default, had a solid year. Casey(17) should be a lock LeBlanc(180 had flashes but disappeared at times. Rozzi(17) will he report? Stammer(19) look good near the end but age works against him. Mercer(18) likely to get a look. Mueller(17) did not look out of place Pavan(18) looks better at F than on D, struggles to process the game. Sanchez(18) depth option
Olson(19)-Darcy(18)-Olson had quietly a good year. Darcy was a huge surprise, looked like a vet out there, very poised. Pilotte(18)-Hamel(19)-both had rough patches but Pilotte is young and Hmael brings an edge. Iasenza(17)-showed good progression as the year went on
After that it's a bit more murky with Euro and Q picks as well. Maybe they add an OA D.
McKinney(19)-never got comfortable then got hurt. Likely gets a look. Pavan(18)-likely a better fit up front, really struggled on D Hopkins(17)-will he report?? Dollemont(17) Desrosiers(18) Nutbrown(18) are options
Filion(17)-a lock, showed good potential. Needs 35-40 games max.
Sheehan(18)/Dimattia(18)/Katz(17)-other spot is up in the air, could also be a veteran
Overall, there is depth on the roster in terms of guys that can play in the Q but not a lot of star power, the Q and Euro draft and trades next year will be key. If they want to win a title, it will require patience.
