Anybody see/hear the lines and pairs at practice? This is just based off Saturday's scrimmage. Labelle - Daoust - Bernier Barbashev - Hudson - Daniel Richard - Stewart - Langlois Cloutier - Leblanc - Stammer Sanchez
Olson - DeJong McKinney - Hamel Pilote - Pavan Iasenza - Matulu Loshing didn't play. Could be injured.

I wasn't expecting barbashev to be starting on second either, but I guess with Loshing out, that may be the reason. Then again, if that's the lines in a scrimmage not sure how much wight that holds come tommorow. I'm assuming Sanchez is up for practices only as he's from the moncton flyers. Can't see him dressing, especially with 8 healthy D available.

Still no Rozzi or Hopkins, was hoping maybe we’d see them for the rest of the season. Are they even playing anywhere this year at least developing? Are there any rumblings out there that this was even Covid related or have we lost two of our top three pics this year?

He has played 12 games this season. I think you expect too much. This has been a tough year to be a rookie in this league ... stops and starts have deprived many of them of the normal 15-20 game acclimatization process where they get used to the league and their roles. Almost a lost season for some of them. The younger ones will get a mulligan and basically have another rookie season next year ... the older ones may find themselves short on runway to establish themselves as regulars in the league and may get passed over by younger options next year - though with the limited action seen by Midget players this year, there will likely be a smaller than usual crop of 16 and 17 year olds ready and nipping at their heals in September.

Loshing is younger and not as physically developped and outproducing him. Pilotte is also outproducing him. He's playing on a team with not a ton of depth or high end skill, so lots of opportunities for new guys.

Give him some time to get use to the pace of the league, the Coaches philosophy, his teammates. Daoust last year did not show much in the first half at all, and he was 18, but his second half was notably different. Now with the 100+ day shutdown many of them wuill probably strat over in their familiarization.

Daoust was a FA joining a powerhouse team, Cloutier was a big piece in the Pelletier trade joining a rebuilding team that lost 6 of it's top 9 or 10 players.

What’s the story with Loshing? Surprised to see him out of the lineup after months off Pretty sure he took the warm-up. Day-to-Day or a healthy scratch?

I know Barbashev added some size in the last year but I was not expecting him to be even more physical than his big brother was at 17. He hits like a truck and gets involved in everything.
For a guy who hadn't played a game in about a year and was a bit of an unknown he looked solid in his first game. Looks to be a power forward with good skill.
Overall its pretty hard to make any assessments when the team has only played a few scrimmages in the last 3 months. The defense is going to be far more exposed without Spence out there for 25-30 minutes. The first line looked good for what it is, D'aoust carries the play better than any player on the team.
