Article in the online version of the Moncton Times - Avenir Centre claims the situation violated posted rules ... 8 fans from one suite entered a neighbouring suite that already had 13 fans - apparently in normal times this is a normal occurrence. They claim that as soon as it came to their attention it was rectified. Both the Avenir Centre and Wildcats issued a statement reminding people to follow the posted rules ... Seems like a rather insufficient response to a group of people boldly flaunting their disrespect for the public safety directions. The Wildcats and Avenir Centre have no tools to hold these people accountable. Their job is to enforce their rules inside the facility, and it seems they did when the problem was discovered. I'd like to see the Dept. of Health come down hard on these people and issue fines.

IMO,the Dept of Health from each province should have someone at every game to ensure that protocols are being followed, especially considering crowd sizes.

I disagree - do you also want Dept of Health posted at Costco and the mall? At this point, it was a one time violation that management has dealt with ... if it becomes a repeat issue, then by all means send in an inspector and fine the building operators, the tenants, and/or the patrons involved. If it doesn't happen again - problem solved.

No they just moved them down to one of the rental suites which was empty.

The Police enforce the laws and the emergency order regulations. There are always at least two Police officers at every game.

Well they were the guests of one of the bigger sponsors so that probably saved them. But if 21 people were sitting altogether in the regular seats, I am sure security would just go down and tell them to separate or go back to their seats. I doubt anybody gets ejected for that, but perhaps after a second time having to be told they would. It has become a news story in the T-T and on the radio so I am sure that the team and Avenir will be keeping a closer eye on things. In theory, an incident like this could cause the team and Avenir to lose their permit to play games and host crowds.

Even if they slide Pavan back to D they'll only have 5. But who knows if they even have anyone available who won't have to quarantine. Thomas Darcy I think is playing in Quebec ? Desrosiers? They might be stuck rolling with 5 if there's no other AF guys around.

In theory, an incident like this could cause the team and Avenir to lose their permit to play games and host crowds. I was a little late to comment on this but this is exactly why public health everywhere are so slow to give rope to organizers of events even when on paper they have all bases covered. The more moving parts the harder it is to control. Their biggest headache is bailing out that situation if they had to contact trace a large group of people, and all those they have been in contact with those individuals, if say a few days later there was a positive case in the mix. That would fall on the health dept not the Cats or Avenir. I attend some of the Halifax games and the tight protocol seems very effective. Its very tight to avoid these very things. In the Avenir suite case it seems they got under control the same as any business or restaurant has had to when patrons didnt follow rules exactly. The problem is any publicity will come off as if this cant be controlled and its special treatment to let them try. I guess we need remind ourselves its a privilege. As the announcements at Scotiabank Center repeat over and over we all have to do these things to be able to watch ( & players to play) the game we all love.

Well this is interesting ... theqmjhl.ca/article/schedule-update-for-the-maritimes-divisionSo how do they play a 9 game round-robin. If we play a home and home with each team, that's 4 games, and 2 more games between SJ and Bat ... 6 total. Does it mean we'll each play 9 games ? Then Charlottetown just sits back and waits, and could play maybe 4 games and be off to Quebec. That would have to be the easiest road to the final that has ever been witnessed. Can you say "asterisk" ?
