Rough night for a few young players, Filion, Iasenza and Pilotte had tough games. All part of the growing process, hopefully Hudson isn't suspended.

The hill gets steeper, Hudson suspended Friday for the Agressor penalty Tuesday.

Tonight's game definitely deserves a post.
This team is down 4 of its top forwards and still found a way to pull out a big character win against a team they have no chance against on paper. Would have been easy for them to fold after going down 3-2 but they never stopped. Whatever Lacroix is doing keep it going.
If it wasn't a covid season with limited fans and opponents I think we'd see a lot more people talking about Hudson. He's as good of a captain as you can ask for. DLC was solid tonight. It was a very physical game and actually had a playoff feel to it.

It was a very physical game and actually had a playoff feel to it. Agree, unreal that they are doing so well with like 6 AF players in the lineup. Daoust, Langlois and Labelle are 3 of their top 4 PPGM scorers and account for 19-50-79 in 66 games, plus Loshing who is a top 9 forward and Mckinney on D who was top 4. DLC has been great the last 2 wins stopping 59 of 64 behind a very green team. As you said Hudson has been great as has been DeJong playing big minutes. The last 2 games with Langlois out, Richard and Daniel have had big games. Darcy keeps playing well on D. It's not pretty but very gutsy effort.

I have no illusions that the Wildcats will come out of NB to play Charlottetown. But its nice to see them working hard and having success.
So each team still has two games to play. If they each go 1 and 1 then what? Will 2 teams get eliminated by a tie-breaker?

If after the round robin, two teams are tied:
Play in game is hosted by the team with more wins head to head. If the records are identical, the team with the highest percentage when you sum the GF and GA and divide in to the GF hosts the play in game.
If after the round robin, three teams are tied:
Team with the higher percentage using the GF/GA formula above hosts the play in game.
Between the last two teams, the team that has the better head to head record goes to play in game. If they have the same record, the team with the higher GF/GA percentage advances to play in game.

Wow, that would be quite the thing if they all went 3-3 and it came down to math. The 3 way tiebreaker would favor SJ and hurt the WC based on current numbers.

So the stat they aren't giving us is the GF/(GF + GA):
Bathurst has 17 F and 18 A for a percentage of 0.486 Saint John has 19 F and 15 A for a percentage of 0.559 Moncton has 13 F and 16 A for a percentage of 0.448
The Friday game of SJ In Bat is the key game. If Bathurst wins then SJ needs Mon to beat Bat on Saturday. If SJ wins then Bat needs Mon to beat SJ on Sunday. But if both teams beat Mon, no matter who wins between them, then they are #1 and #2, and I guess they'd play a single elimination game.
Moncton would seem to need to win at least one more game, and perhaps have a bit of a lopsided score in that win.
But the big question will still be, can the ultimate winner go to Charlottetown to play them ? I have a feeling that Charlottetown and the NB winner will both go to Quebec and face each other there.

Quite the season ... hope we never see another one quite like it. Kudos to the Cats players and staff for sticking it out to the end - I can only imagine how hard it must have been on them with the repeated isolation periods and extended layoffs. Glad to see that they got to end their season the way they should, by being eliminated on the ice - they are one of the first junior teams in Canada to be able to say their season ended when they were knocked out of the playoffs. Will be interesting as always to see what changes the offseason has in store for the team.

I really hope these kids keep the same work ethic as they get older because they’ll be one of hell of a team in the future. Skill plus that work ethic can only lead to good things
