I've been told a name. Their initials are MP. Doesn't he have a contract and a sweet gig? Not as of May 2021.

Any rumors or speculation on who his replacement is? Some of the reporters in Quebec are speculating that it is someone very familiar in the Qmjhl. I've been told a name. Their initials are MP. The initials are MP.. or they ARE an MP www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/richard-martel(100521)

If it is Mario Pouliot then yes make him GM and Coach and give Georgie the President title alone.

Supposedly, but the Huskies announced in March he was stepping away due to issues with his heart... but all of a sudden 4 or 5 months later he's good to go to work for another team? Seems odd to me

According to my sources, the new head coach of @sjseadogs should be announced today. # LHJMQ

Hopefully it is just to play alot and not a path to NCAA. I am sure he would not get much ice time with the Dogs this year.

In a perfect world, most drafted kids from Atlantic Canada find a challenge above midget for their 16 season. It sucks that it puts us at risk of losing the kids to NCAA, but it's best for the kids.

I've been told a name. Their initials are MP. Just an update: Apparently, the Q vetoed the hiring of Mario Pouliot. Likely due to the health problems. I'm surprised that kind of a rule exists other than with the recent requirement to be vaxxed. Seems like we see a coach with cancer behind the bench every now and then. There must be a rule though if the league overturned an individual franchise hire - maybe insurance reasons? Reading the comments over the shortened season - the Dogs seem to have been a bit soft on the back end defensively. Maybe that's a poor choice of words. They weren't strong defensively - but they also seemed to lack a bit of size and grit. A few comments don't seem to give 2002 Ben Roode much of a chance to stick this season - but he might surprise a few if he shows up in top condition. I thought he was going to be this big (6'5" - 210 lbs.), lumbering D-man when he landed in Yarmouth - but he was anything but. Within a handful of games he started to stand out and got better and better and better as the season played out. He was arguably the Mariners' best D-man down the stretch and started to dominate in the game analytics - TOI; shot blocks; takeaways; hits and so on. Every game his name stood out in some category. He also had surprising agility going with the puck from inside his own blueline through the neutral zone to gain the blueline. He was very smooth for a big player and he has a surprising burst when he sees open ice. He seemed to beat players one on one through the neutral zone every time he tried and he really started to go with the puck late in the season. He might not make the Dogs' roster - but he might be worth a look by another team. He has a huge reach and gets a stick on everything. He didn't have a lot of PIM mainly because of his size and nobody wanting to challenge him. He seemed to know how far he could go in the scrums with a glove to the face or a whack - but just enough to fall short of getting flagged. His compete level is high from what I can tell. If he's ready to play his size at camp - he'll be a tough cut. He's mobile when his confidence is there.
