Any reason why Reynolds didn't get drafted? Ben Boyd goes but he doesn't. Reynolds IMO deserved to be drafted, I’m quite shocked he wasn’t and I think he gets picked next year, if not signed this year. You can’t teach size though and Boyd has that. He’s a big guy, who loves to finish checks and create turnovers, he’s a net front presence, by no means a pretty skater but I don’t think he struggles to keep up or get around the ice either. You look at a guy with his size, how few players there are in the draft like him and it probably gives him a boost because every team wants a 6’3 power forward who will finish his checks and contribute to the bottom 6 but not every team has them. You’re basically picking him hoping you can unlock his potential and find yourself a unicorn of sorts, in today’s NHL. With all that said about Boyd though, I still would have drafted Reynolds over him. No slight on Boyd but I just think Reynolds is better. The better players don’t always get picked though, you’re looking for tools or something that you can project into the NHL, I think this is simply a case of at least one team, thinking he can/has a better shot at being a guy who can contribute then Reynolds, who’s role is going to be vastly different from Boyd’s in the event they both made the NHL. |

I had such high hopes for Gilbert but he didn't seem to be the right fit for this team at all, at least not with the 2 assistants he inherited. I'm quite surprised he was let go after just one year though. I'm guessing he was signed for 3 years, or 2 at the very least. Hopefully for both parties he won't have much trouble finding a new job.

If the name circulating is true, the party will be over in Saint-John 🥶 #LHJMQ What do we suppose they mean by "party"? I'm hoping it means guys worrying more about offensive stats than defense. I wouldn't call last season much of a party in any other sense, at least not on the ice. |
