Also, keep in mind that sometimes "insiders" have to post things they know to be wrong in exchange for being fed rumors.
Case in point, I'd be shocked if Charles Ouellet wasn't fed Frenette to Gatineau by Victo (in the hopes of creating a market for Frenette when no one was calling).

He's a Gatineau fan. If it was a trade involving Gatineau he would probably be very accurate or reliable. I'd take this one with a grain of salt. Outside of Gatineau he's hit or miss. He also doesn't mind stirring the pot a little at times either so..... Take a "believe it when I see it" approach. Lahaie is well connected within the Q. he is the one that maintains the draft picks database. I never said he wasn't connected but that doesn't mean everything he posts is accurate. He's like everyone else with some inside knowledge, in my opinion, who posts frequently. They are often right about their team, but are also sometimes wrong, especially with things not involving their team/division/etc. Also anyone could maintain the draft pick database. It doesnt mean you get inside info on any trades. It just means you're probably spending a shitload of time trying to keep track of a tedious mostly thankless task. (but hey if he is the one doing that, thank you. I check it often.) But face it Billy you are/were connected in the Q also. Have you not been wrong in the past? Have You have not posted something solely to stir the pot in the past? We all know the answer to that one lol. |

You can use the Q alone to show the downfall of local journalism. Wily Palov posts nothing but the sun is shining and life is wonderful commentary. Zero insight or actual opinion. No breaking news, just hand fed tidbits. Yet to some he's one of the best around. And he used to be. But now he's just helping to market the 2 NS teams. There's no journalism involved. |

But its still a tedious task you need to have some passion for to be spending the time on it. The work needed vs the league just proper reporting things would frustrate me to no end. |

For guys like Steve Turcotte and Mikael Lalancette, it does not, but for guys who are trying to create a larger presence for themselves, that is the price they pay. This is why a guy like Craig Eagles might get to be the first person to post about a Moncton trade when there is no obvious reason for Moncton to feed him info over their own media guys. |

I didn't say he was connected because of the picks database, just pointing out that's who he is. |
