Wish list would be for Yan Kuznetsov to get sent down and add Biakabutuka from Rimouski for the back end. Then go out and pay for Desnoyers from and Halifax then add Doucet from Val Dor or Peeters then maybe move inniss and upgrade the 20 spot somewhere. Probably be expensive but we do have the assets too do it.

I think they need at the very least two shut down D-men and two top six forwards.
I was hoping for Reynolds and McDonald to step into those roles this year but it looks like Francis will need a couple of top guys to play with.
If they can add two top six forwards they have the makings of a decent bottom six with Reynolds, Mcdonald, Bizeau, Savoie, Picard, etc.
I wonder how many teams currently in the top 10 will still sell off pieces or buy thinking that they might have a legitimate shot this year. The standings are not quite what people were predicting to start the season.
Still lots of time for teams to turn it around or others to come back to earth.

2. Buyout svechkov contract from khl have mr McCain send a container full of frozen french fries and deep dish pizzas.
3. Trade Halifax to get desnoyers cost 2 1sts and player at the draft.

The one thing we definitely can do immediately and not need to wait for a trade period window to open, is upgrade on Sapelnikov. I think he has been improving as the season goes on, but we can't wait and see how much he improves really. We are bleeding away points in the standings.
No idea who is available and at what cost, but an Ivan Ivan from Cape Breton, or Matej Kaslik from Chicoutimi, or Raivis Kristians Ansons in Baie Comeau are 3 names I'd be looking at for an immediate acquisition to give our top six a boost. If TG feels Kuznetsov is not coming to SJ, add another Euro from those names and bolster the offense now.
Then at Xmas you go out and find a big name non-Euro defenseman, and probably a bottom pairing D as well to add some depth and grit on the backend.
Then you pray, cross your fingers, or do whatever it is you do when hoping things work out for the best.

I think we need to acquire 2 impact imports one way or another. Hopefully one is Kuznetsov and then we trade for a high-skilled forward.
Very frustrating that 3 years ago we had the best 2002 born players in the world here and had a high draft pick for that year and nothing to show for it. Even one high quality import player would help this team a lot.

Early talks have Saint John acquiring Desnoyers from Halifax. Mostly picks involved with some being sent back at the draft and Cam MacDonald going to the Mooseheads.
Cam Russell and Trevor Georgie don't have a great relationship. If the trade doesn't happen, that will be one reason why.

I'm hearing most teams want Drapeau+. Sounds like he's as good as gone.The only question is whether it's at Christmas or the draft.

I like drapeau and at only 17 is worth at least 2 high pics so if he is the deal breaker to get a player of desnoyers caliber it's all in this year.

Interestingly enough, Kuznetsov is scratched for tonight's game vs Ontario. |
