I see he's played 10 games with Stockton. Wouldn't that mean his contract is kicked in whether he stays in the AHL or gets sent down to the QMJHL? Is it very common that a team would send a player down even after his pro contract has kicked in?

I think that only applies to nhl games but not 100 percent sure.

Kuznetsov scratched again last night gotta think a decision soon. I understand the q is a step down from the ahl but cant be very good for his development being scratched every 2nd game.

I can see them possibly waiting until the World Juniors. It would be great if they decide one way or the other before then so we'd know what we need to trade for and know the status of that import spot.
In terms of his development, I think there are pros and cons each way. Maybe a taste of both (with the WJC in between) will be good for him.

Maybe they don’t want to send him down to the Country club Sea dogs?

Maybe they don’t want to send him down to the Country club Sea dogs? Maybe we can quote this comment when another Islander / Rockets team loses its last game of the season again and gets beat out of the playoffs.

For the last 3 seasons everybody and their dog has been saying the SeaDogs are the team to beat in the East. Lots of high end NCAA players and for the last 3 years they’ve been a complete flop. Now I’m not saying they won’t win the Q or the mem cup because we all know they will load up but what I’m saying is from a fans stand point on the outside looking in nothing is quite as satisfying than seeing a team that has a reputation of “cheating the system” getting the “NCAA “ players to only report there and watching them struggle.

It has nothing to do with it. You put a little dig on the team that I support. I just thought I would give your team a little dig. I agree that this group of players have not lived up to expectations and I myself have been one that has been critical of this group of players. Hopefully they make the right moves and not have to go to the Memorial cup through the back door.

Never was a strong point for me. Still doesn't change the fact that the Islanders are always one of those teams.

Every team is one of those teams hahaha. Although we haven’t won anything, which is ultimately what matters, the Islanders have the most team wins in the last 5-6 years. The culture in the organization has changed, and it’s only a matter of time before we win a league title.

Just as we thought the dogs were turning the corner playing good hockey defense was playing great they play one of the worst games of the year I know some people will say 2 pts is 2 pts we were playing a team that the game shouldn't have been close.
Goaltending was awful Defense was atrocious Forwards got the puck tried to beat 3 guys turned the puck over again and again and again. This team has to get it together and stop playing selfish hockey.

They've beaten Quebec, Moncton and Drummondville recently who are all far ahead of them in the standings. On their four game winning streak they outscored opponents 17-3. Their is so much parity in the league this year.
