The Islanders are back on home ice for a mid-week contest vs. Drummondville on Wednesday.
It's been a fairly tough schedule for the Islanders. Two weeks ago they hosted Blainville on a Sunday afternoon. They had to hit the road right away to play in Gatineau on a Wednesday, then they were up to the Abitibi for the games this past weekend. Now, back in Charlottetown, they have to be ready to go for mid-week action.
We'll be without Lukas Cormier, who'll be at the Team Canada camp for the upcoming World Juniors. Also, Oscar Plandowski is suspended, so it will be interesting to see how the holes on the blueline are addressed.
Drummondville has an interesting young team. They sit in 7th place overall with 29 points, but they are playing 3 2021 1st round picks in their lineup... forward Tyler Peddle and defencemen Matteo Rotondi and Marc-Olivier Beaudry.
Game time is 7:00 PM.

Brabanec is also likely to be gone with the Czech Jr team although not sure when.
First game at home with the Voltigeurs for Simon Hughes of Stratford.

Sounds like Simoneau is out 4-6 weeks as well. Could be short handed for a decent period of time. Thankfully we stashed some points in the first half…

Not sure…to make things even worse, the Isles announced that Guay is out as well. Both are out for undisclosed amount of time with upper body injuries.
The only call up announced was Toplin…I’m not even going to try and spell it. Defenceman currently playing with Fredericton major midget.

Only 10 available forwards and 5 available defencemen.
Topilnyckyj has been called up for the next stretch of games. Beyond that guys like Vos (Knights), Simard-Sancy (Mount Academy), Jano Zambakdjian (Mount Academy) could be avaiable.
Up front, they'd likely look at Brett Arsenault (Knights) and/or Jonah Jelley (Knights) as quickly accessible options.
Not an ideal situation, that's for sure.

Well damn...this weekends games will probably not go in our favour then. Titan and SJ, yikes.

I’d rather this happen now though than in day March. Shouldn’t change the managements plans for trade time may just make them be a little more aggressive or may make them try and get some deals done sooner than waiting every 2 points is important

The guardian just released an article and it’s all about Guay and has nothing noted about him Missing time hopefully that’s the case.

Isles twitter account states he (Guay) is a gametime decision
also Cormier and Brabanec are playing
the sky didn't fall
also take whatever Quebec based twitter geniuses speculate with a grain of salt..... only mention of 4-6 weeks for Simoneau coming from a Gatineau beat reporter

Yeah Cormier leaves tomorrow. I have no insight, but maybe Brabenec just joins the team when they come to Canada? I’m not sure what his status with the team is, but I’d have to guess that he would be a lock to make the team.

Solid win. The 3rd was a bit of a mess. Saw Kidney give Brabenec quite the whack when they were both going to the bench, he looked to be in some pain. Good for Cormier to get his 50th career goal, aside from playoff goals.
