The Islanders are finally back in action this afternoon. This weekend we are on a Quebec roadie and the first stop is this afternoon in Baie-Comeau.
Today will be our first look at our deadline acquisitions.
Game time is 4:00 AST.

Anyone want to take a stab at what the lines could look like?

I’m curious about how they use the goalies this weekend. I figure both goalies see action this weekend.

Just checking out this game and wow - it's a fantastic broadcast from Baie Comeau with multiple cameras and close-up action.
The Islanders are fast and really strong on the forecheck. They throw it around like the Harlem Globetrotters on the PP.
Lukas Cormier had the only goal of the period. He split the D on another rush - he's smooth. That is Mario's son - right? I remember Mario when he was that age. He was a terror out there - 87 points and 336 PIM one season in the MJ if my memory serves me correctly.
Laaouan had a really big hit in the period with a stand up hit at the opposing blueline that put the opponent on his ass. Great to see it go uncalled - and no retaliation.
Play was turning a bit chippy late in the period - which makes a good game become even better.
That's my first look at the Islanders other than hi-lite reels. They look like the team to beat.

Nice rush by Cormier! Like you said, great camera quality! You mentioned Mario. Was that the era of Deny Gaudet as well?

Yikes wish we could stay out of the box...the entire 2nd period short handed is not a good look

I was off a bit on my numbers - Mario put up 88 points that season and 311 PIM. He looked like Rocket Richard on the ice - jet black eyes - and was a fierce competitor. His younger brother, Luc, put up 87 points that same season and 278 PIM.

Certainly a better 3rd period. Still need to do better on not taking penalties. Everyone looked kind of out of sync but that can be excused with 5 practices in 40 some days

The Boyd-Gallant-Elliot line might end up being one of the toughest lines to play against. Will be no shortage of finished checks between the big boys…then Gallant will constantly be in their ear.

It was Elliot Boyd and Saye last night the little bit I’ve seen from Saye the last 2 games he’s gonna be a great fit. Reminds me of Spencer’s Cobbold a little bit obviously only 2 games
