It was Elliot Boyd and Saye last night the little bit I’ve seen from Saye the last 2 games he’s gonna be a great fit. Reminds me of Spencer’s Cobbold a little bit obviously only 2 games Yeah my bad, posted that in the wrong thread. Didn’t see the game last night but I think Saye might’ve been on the 4th line tonight? Either way, great addition for basically no cost.

Is this 5X5 data only or does it include power play? Size of sample suggests to me that it includes PP….and our PP is very strong and would really balloon these numbers. FROM WIKI:Corsi is an advanced statistic used in the game of ice hockey to measure shot attempt differential while at even strength play. This includes shots on goal, missed shots on goal, and blocked shot attempts towards the opposition's net minus the same shot attempts directed at your own team's net.

I would guess these numbers are Corsi For…..I.e. before subtracting the Corsi Against.
Is for if it is 5X5 or all situations….I’ll look into these numbers and think about it.

No - they wouldn't be CORSI if they didn't subtract the chances against. Some teams have team leaders with negative CORSI numbers - it doesn't mean they weren't on the ice for any scoring chances for. If only scoring chances were counted here - how could somebody possibly show a negative? I'm just putting the numbers up for people to see - not to argue about them. Some people just won't accept the numbers for what they are - even when there is video proof for everything. Not meaning to be rude whatsoever. It just gets to be a chore forever being called out that analytics that are backed up with video proof aren't accurate. Apologies if I'm coming off the wrong way countryboy because you're a good poster who has been around for a long time - and I respect you for that. CORSI is chances for minus chances against when a player is on the ice - period. I don't know what else to say. For a player to be somewhere around 300 CORSI after roughly 30 games - and based on that player averaging around 20 shifts per game (top six forward) or 30 shifts per game (top pair D-man) - he would need to accumulate one more scoring chance every second to third shift - more than he was on the ice against. Does Lukas Cormier average 1 more scoring chance for than against every three shifts at even strength? In my estimation - I think that's probable with a top team like the Islanders. Cape Breton Top 5 CORSI:N. Girouard 31 C. Huggan -1 P. Pattengale -6 M. McQuaid -10 O. Houde -10

Analytics are 100 percent backed up by video proof - not 90 percent backed up - or guesswork - or anything else. They are 100 PERCENT BACKED UP BY VIDEO PROOF - PERIOD. Analytics are for coaches, GM's and scouts - and for the players themselves who are given printouts after each game. I'm just trying to give the ordinary fan like myself a glimpse of what those analytics show. There is zero way to manipulate the system or to cheat. It's like a camera shot of a car going through a stop sign without stopping. You can have 15 witnesses claiming it didn't happen - but video proof doesn't lie. Wow - there's a lot of smart people here who just don't get it (not meaning you Bois).

i absolutely do not hate stats lol You have about 25,000 posts and I have less than 100. I just want to apologize for coming off the wrong way. You're a great poster - really. I get a bit ticked because so many people seem to call me out for posting the analytics. To me - they can tell so much of the game that goes unseen and I like that sort of thing - but I'm quickly realizing that the overall membership here doesn't really care. I'll stop posting them.

For the record...I also have no use for analytics. But those who love them can fill their boots with all their stats.
Generally they tell you what other stats do. And also have huge holes in that they have no way to measure competitiveness and about a dozen other factors that the "eye test" takes into account.
To each their own. But just enough with the PEOPLE HATE STATS and shoving analytics DOWN THE THROATS OF THOSE WHO DONT LIKE IT.
Its ok to voice an opinion that I'm not going to argue about something and just have that be the end of it. There's no need to take someone on for their lack of excitement over very boring advanced stats that a good 95% of hockey fans could not care less about.
