Noah Dobson scored his 9th goal of the season last night and now has more goals this year than the rest of the Islanders defencemen combined! He has really taken a big step forward offensively this year, from a 25 point to a 45 point pace. The departures of Toews and Leddy has opened up more offensive situations for him.

Congratulations to Bennett MacArthur. What a success story not only for Bennett - but also for the Titan organization who gave him the chance and showed confidence in him. This is what dreams are made of - and how they are made.

If he keeps progressing at this pace he could eventually be in a Norris voting race in a couple seasons.

Was checking up on Jeff Viel and I see that he has had fights in his last 2 games. He now has 112 in penalty minutes in 32 games this year. That is currently tied 4th in the league - the leader (Mark Borowiecki) has 137 in 49 games. The other 2 players with more are Jeannot 119 mi in 73 games & Tkachuk 113 in 71 games.
Looking forward to when Viel returns to playing hockey and gets away from the goon stuff. 8 fights so far this season in 32 games. Leader (Jeannot has 13 fights in 73 games.

Dobson continues to shine and remains 3rd in team scoring so far this year. He currently has 47 points with 4 games remaining. Wondering if he can get to 50? Either way - he is having a great season. He had 7 points in 34 games in 19/20, 14 points in 46 games last year.

Dobson’s production has been nothing short of awesome and the fact he’s doing it on a weaker islanders team this year he could probably be a 60-65 point D-man moving forward and should expect a nice raise as well. Great for him!

With his 2 assists last night - Dobson now has 50 points this season (13g 37a).
He will be a restricted free agent at the end of this season as his 3 year $4,387,500 contract comes to an end. Any speculation as to what the new contract will look like?

Any speculation as to what the new contract will look like? I can see Dobson signing something like a 4 mill per year for 4 years type of deal. However the Islanders like their long term contracts like Pelech and Pulock so maybe we see a 6-8 year deal.
