That's awesome! Never held any sort of grudge with Jean. Young coach at the time and the victim of Savard's poor team planning. Glad to see he was able to build a great coaching career. |

Congratulations to former Islander and current Voltigeur Peter Repcik on being named to the preliminary roster for Slovakia for the upcoming World Junior tournament. Repcik had an impressive tournament for Slovakia last year, so hopefully he will be on the squad this year. I was hopeful maybe Ondrej Maruna might be an option for the Slovaks, but all of their invites except for one player are either 04 or 05 born players. Former Islanders defenceman Mathis Aguilar is on the move in a QMJHL trade. Rimouski moved him to Victoriaville in a deal to bring in Pierre-Marc Minville. Aguilar, at 19, must not have been in Rimouski's plans as a 20 for their Memorial Cup year, so they flipped him for a defenceman a year younger.

There were a couple of former Islanders on the move in trades today:
-Drew Elliott moves to Saint John from Drummondville as they open a spot for Alexis Gendron. It’s a great chance for him to finish his major junior career near home.
-Angus Booth was moved from Shawinigan to Baie-Comeau in a trade today. Booth never played for us. If not for the limited camp in 2020 due to the pandemic, Booth likely would have made our team as a 16 y/o….but we moved him to Shawinigan that fall and he went directly to the Q and has had a great career. Technically not a former Islander, but very close.

Lukas Cormier recalled by the Golden Knights, not sure if he will see any ice time but they do play tonight
