Game #1 was not the start to the series that anyone wanted. We allowed Shawinigan too many chances and couldn't break through their defensive structure.
We'll need to make some changes for tonight and get the series evened up. It is the finals and it is to be expected that we'll face some adversity. I'm hoping for a big bounce back tonight.
It should be another electric night at the Eastlink Centre.\
Game time is 7:00 PM.

Simoneau makes this engine run smooth.
He's a key part of their PK.......and Guay really isn't the same player without him.
When Simoneau was hurt earlier in the season, the team struggled... as did Guay.
I expect a statement game from this team tonight.
Go Isles!

Simoneau missing is huge, I think he will have a statement game himself. I wonder if we shouldn’t put the 3 headed monster line together Budgell Guay and Simoneau let them do what Shawi top line did last night.

He will be a real “X” factor! I agree he will be motivated to climb a mountain to help his teammates win. The problem with Bourque/Bourgault is that their lines are in a blender. Sometimes they are with Nadeau, sometimes with Dube, sometimes another player. It would be tough to line match. For this game, I’m less concerned with keeping them in check and more concerned with getting shots through and having traffic in front of Coulombe. Angus Booth looks great. I know the circumstances of the pandemic was the reason we dealt him….and I’m not even sure we would have kept a 17 y/o D-man on this roster….but he and Tourigny (only 16) are great on the Shawinigan blueline. Coulombe looked very unorthodox last night......"swimming" at times. The boys got the nerves out last night.......and I expect a totally different outcome this game

Bring back the old Forum & Joe for tonight you had to be 3 goals better going in there or you come out on the short end! Tonight should be a game that will be remembered for awhile (on the puck like a junk yard dog! May 3 0r 4 of the boys have balls like a bouy! Go Islanders

Bowness becomes a scratch, Horth moves down to the 4th line.
Obviously Simoneau back is huge, but Horth vs Bowness makes that 4th line much more playable IMO.
Not that the 4th line will likely get much playing time, but you worry about them a little less now

So frustrating to come out flying and then give up a goal against the grain, then have a goal called back for the second straight night.
Feels like all the bounces are going against us

I think they just need a bounce to go their way and things will start happening. It's a better game tonight but they need to stay out of the box.

16-5 shots in favor of the Isles...
Like mentioned above, they need to stay out of the box and get a bounce here and there.
The goal was called back why?
The replays on Eastlink didn't show any goaltender interference...
