What a bullshit call after they put the whistles away majority of the period..... How the table has turned now. Each team only had two PP's...4 penalties in the entire game.....so IMO, the refs did let them play the game. Bring on Shawi!!

Unbelievable. Everything they didn't call against Shawinigan and they call that. Wish the league would clean house and get rid of these idiot refs.
Finals are supposed to have the best refs. BS these are the best for the Maritimes.

It's called the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for a reason...
absolutely brutal officiating time after time. You shouldn't get to ref in the final just because you've been around a long time.

The call was bad but you don't want game 2 at home when down already to be in a position to be decided by the officials. Or a mistake for that matter.
Charlottetown needed to get a goal early in first when they were pouring it on and up 7-0 in shots. They had Shawinigan on their heels alot.
Consolation is they know they can outplay them. They need to cash in.
This reminds me of other series where the goals just don't come enough for Charlottetown though they are buzzing around the net.
Shawinigan now on a 4 game win streak and both goalies confident.

I've never been one to believe in conspiracy theories about sports leagues being rigged.
But I'll be damned if the Q doesn't make it easy to believe they pull the strings in favour of Quebec teams.
Matt Hicks stole that game from us

The Remparts would outplay them most of the game but couldn't take a huge lead. Then Bourque's line came back often and the game went Shawinigan's way. Bourque and Bourgault seem to have a lot of energy. They missed most of the season.

BS these are the best for the Maritimes. Didn't see the play or much if the game for that matter. But isn't it the linesmen of who call face-off violations? And it would be the refs who were letting everything else go. Doesn't make it any less frustrating as a fan but I'm not sure if we should expect linesman to adjust how they call a game because of the way the referees are calling the game.

Matt Hicks stole that game from us Never in my time have I seen a call like that, in a game of this importance, in the league final, in a play that didn’t affect the the play at all. I’m sour, but that set precedence of what a boneheaded call is. He should be fired.

Well it was a bad call. But the islanders aren”t dominating them like they should. They need to shut down 2 players and they aren’t. Now they need to walk this game off and get back in the game or it’s over.
Stop 2 players and you can win. Otherwise it’s over.

Bourque and Bourgault seem to have a lot of energy. They missed most of the season. also not to be misled by George Matthews comment on the Islander broadcast that "Quebec kept those two in check most of the series" The games in that series were all close except game 5 when Shawinigan broke loose, and any series where Mavrik Bourque steals it from you (game 4 in OT when a Quebec goal would have won the series for Quebec)---- no they didn't really hold them in check. Those players just being there need to be addressed. My fear with back to back at home facing a team on a little roll it can turn bad in a span of 27 hours. And it did. I know people in the organization read this. Don't let the players buy the theory that the refs are out for them. Don't let anyone fall back on an excuse for the loss. Need more goals. Need more PPG need fewer PPG for them. Need prevent their big guys from determining the game. Islander are a pretty good road team. That's the narrative. Go get them.
