Two things.....
1. Between the second and third period on Sunday night (game #2) in the awesome atmosphere of the Eastlink Centre, at that point, all I wished for was one more night to experience a game in the President's Cup finals at home.
2. Of course, we were hoping to go up to Shawinigan, win both games, and come back here tied 2-2. But if you gave me the scenario where we won game #3 and lost game #4 and ended up coming back here down 3-1.... I wouldn't have relished the idea, but I'd be OK with the situation.
Well.... we lost game #3 and won game #4. We're trying to climb the mountain that most of the time is impossible, but we're very close to meeting the criteria that I describe in points 1 and 2.
I look forward to a raucous night at the Eastlink Centre on Saturday night! It'll be awesome!!!

The interesting story line over the next 24 hours will be if Zachary Massicotte will be suspended for his hit on Ben Boyd. I think that he clearly targets Boyd's head on the hit and he doesn't let up when he's in the position where he'll deliver a hit to Boyd's head. It should be a suspension, IMO.
I went back through the discipline for the Q this season. On 8 occasions a player was suspended for checking to the head. On all occasions except for one the suspension was 2 games. Sometimes the infraction included a match penalty, other times it did not.
Mar. 13 - Christopher Inniss - 3 games (match penalty) Mar. 3 - Anthony Turcotte - 2 games (match penalty) Feb. 27 - Samuel Ritchie - 2 games (major penalty only) Feb. 25 - PO Roy (Vic) - 2 games (major penalty only) Dec. 12 - JR Roy - 2 games (major penalty only) Nov. 12 - Jeremie Biakabatuka - 2 games (major penalty only) Oct. 30 - Alexandre Joncas - 2 games (match penalty) Oct. 24 - Alexander Gaudio - 2 games (major penalty only)
Of the 8 checking to head suspensions, 5 of the 8 suspensions were on plays where the on ice official issued a major penalty (but no match). So the assertion that Massicotte should not be suspended because no match penalty was assessed should not necessarily be the case.
Considering that we are in the playoffs and for suspension purposed (rightly or wrongly) these games seem to be deemed more meaningful, I think that it is very appropriate to expect Massicotte to get a one game suspension....and anything less that that, I'd be very upset with if I were the Islanders. It was a very dangerous hit.

Blindsided dangerous hit that they are trying to remove from the game. Should definitely be suspended.

It is a mistake if there is no suspension.

definitely blindsided and targets the head
however feet do not leave the ice and elbow is not a factor
agree it should be 1 game suspension

So nobody knows yet what if any supplemental discipline will be levied. I see it posted that the playoff games are more meaningful so miss a game in the playoffs and its worth like 2 in the regular season.
But by that same rational a guy missing the rest of game sometimes counts in playoffs as time served. If this was game 2 or 3 that player missing may have made a difference even for one period.
So lets put this to the test. He committed this foul when the game was pretty much no longer in doubt. So missing him from the 3rd period to end of game really is just giving him a rest so he is ready and chipper for game 5. Will add insult to injury if he comes back in game 5 and plays elite after a good nap when everyone else had to play the remainder of that 7-0 game.
I also think that if that play happened under the watch of a maritime ref he would have got the match penalty. There were other plays that would have gotten penalties. We see much more menial plays get those assessments in Maritime division officiated games. The refs input matters in this. So I expect he gets off scott free here so to speak. The tolerance for these hits is a little greater west of Edmundston.

If there is no suspensions then the league sets the tone for the rest of the series. There needs to be a suspension on this play no question.
If they are true to their word about getting this kind of thing out of the game then realistically he should be gone for a couple of games. Especially if we can't utilized Boyd cause he is out injured from the hit.
These 2 were going at each other all series long, I would suspect if things don't go the Islanders way come Saturday and there is no suspension there will be some redemption coming their way

I must say though what a fantastic job by the officials in the past 2 games. The maritime officials could take lessons, it will be interesting to see who is doing the game come Saturday This. I hope it’s not Hicks, for the simple fact it could throw some tension towards the isles. Most likely LANGELLE AND MILLS UGH.UGH

Nothing better than quieting that crowd. Was great to see all the Islander fans, glad TSN showed a couple shots of them. I watched the highlights on the Q site. The site site showed the highlights with the RDS announcers. After one of the goals it showed the Islanders fans waving the PEI flag and the announcer says (in French) "The Islander fans are waving the New Brunswick flag". 🤦♂️

Keep a close eye on things.... for the games last weekend, they ended up releasing a few extras the day of... you just have to be on your socials to make sure you see the info. Also, I think the tickets released later are at box office only. Good luck getting tickets. Seems the sales were frantic! Went in right at 11 to buy tickets 4 of us and couldn’t it sold out that fast I’m fucking rattled

For those tickets, can you buy them online, or is it box office only?
