Does that mean we need to wait until next Friday to finally see our final roster? My god it’s been bad in the way of letting fans know how the team is shaping up

I don’t even think the roster is set….meaning the overagers. Leblanc and Stairs were out at Tim’s with the team yesterday. Other than those couple of cuts, the roster is posted on the league website

My god it’s been bad in the way of letting fans know how the team is shaping up I mean it’s not really that hard to understand why the roster is the way it is though. The overage situation isn’t settled because it can’t be. You have Biakabutuka at Red Wings main camp, you have Trudeau at Montreal main camp. You don’t know if they’re going to be coming back or going to the AHL so you’re really only carrying 4 OA’s right now. You can keep 4 for a certain amount of time so someone will be the odd man out every night and nights Lapenna isn’t in net, the other one will get in because they’ll just scratch Lapenna instead of wasting a 20 slot on the backup. I personally think we know what the team is (minus the 20’s) but they haven’t cut or released any of the 20’s because they have no idea which ones are going to even be playing in the Q.

It isn't through indifference that they aren't releasing this info. It's not like this is ideal for the Islanders brass either. I guarantee Jim Hulton doesn't see it as ideal that the season gets underway in no time and he still isn't sure who is coming back.

The guys here are fighting for a spot, they’re probably not going to latch on with other teams at this point, so if you’re one of the guys fighting for a spot, you’re hoping Biakabutuka and Trudeau stick around main camp as long as possible or go to the AHL.

Yes the overage situation needs to eventually be resolved but even with that the q site roster shows boyd ( we heard rumours he was playing aus) and mossey ( never was in camp and our moderator claims he has no interest in chl
Just a lack of information this camp and i don’t necessarily trust that q roster lol

and mossey ( never was in camp and our moderator claims he has no interest in chl Unless they are possibly still trying to land him and having negotiations with his team.. Played last season in the States and someone in his immediate Family mentioned that he had no interest in playing CHL..... But like I mentioned, unless Jim does pull a rabbit out of his hat, I cannot see him playing here.

IIRC the SJ one left off at least Lessard, and definitely a few other guys that were still in camp until near the end.

Without a doubt, the 20 y/o situation is a mess....but you can connect the dots and see why it the way that it is.
We currently have the following 20 y/o players in the mix:
Trudeau Lapenna Biakabatuka Gallant Stairs Leblanc
Guay has signed to play in the AHL, so we know we owe Blainville something significant. Does that mean that Trudeau gets dealt to the Armada? Rumor suggests so. But what if the Habs were to sign Trudeau to an entry level contract.... or if Laval were to offer Trudeau an AHL contract and he played pro this year.
Lapenna is a nice fit in goal for them if they want to use a 20 slot in net. Biakabatuka is also a player who is a reasonable offer to fill the spot that would have been for Trudeau... if he is even under consideration to be dealt to Blainville. I don't expect that Biakabatuka is heading for pro hockey this year since he is at Detroit camp as an undrafted FA.
There's still a lot up in the air and it could remain this way until well into pro camps, which is unfortunate.

By the looks of the team's recent Instagram stories... someone looks familiar. and as I posted this... Mitchell Wagner's name is gone and Mossey has a number. #26.

Don’t know much about Mossey.. is this a good signing or is it just the local kid that everyone is excited for because he’s local?
