Quite a day for Morin, Q Player & Team of the week and added to the CHL prospects roster in January. Kid is finally getting some of the attention her deserves. Thibeau and his staff deserve a lot of credit for stealing him in last years draft.

Not bad for a 2nd round pick.

Not bad for a 2nd round pick. In a re-draft he goes top 5 easy.

Not bad for a 2nd round pick. In a re-draft he goes top 5 easy. If they play that season, I bet he goes a lot higher than 21 too. I know in bantam he was really highly touted, then you go off play somewhere else for 2 years and in your draft year no one really played. Then the last real time you saw him play was as a 14 year old (bantam aged) against players all midget age, where it’s harder to stand out then against your peers and I can reason with how he ends up going 21. Great pick by the Cats though, they got a real dandy on Morin. I selfishly wish Hopkins had gone the Q route too. That D core could be something special..

The unique thing about this guy is his wrist shot. I don't recall ever seeing a D-Man play in Moncton with such a sneaky wrist shot, at 17 hes on pace to have a 30 goal season, higher than even Keith Yandle had at 19. If his skating was just a tad better he'd be an easy 1st round NHL pick.
He's also clearly turned things up a notch physically this season, even trying to throw the odd hip check. Its hard to project out what type of numbers he could achieve as a 19 year old, and he puts up big offensive numbers while still playing terrific defense.

Morin reminds me of a more skilled Jacob Sweeney. Can play any part of the game. Sweeney was heavier. But he calmed the game down and could provide offense too. Morin will take next step and play pro.

Spence was just called up to cover for Drew Doughty injury - I think he has 25 points (est) already with Ontario Reign this season.

4th in the league for defensemen scoring...at only 17. Quite impressive player for sure. Could be a 80+ point guy next year.

Technically deschamps led the team but savard put up 77 and was here the whole season, that season also had barberio finish 4th in team scoring. Looking back, Gabriel bourque didn’t do much offensively the 2nd half but absolutely took off in the playoffs

Morin ranked 26th on Buttons latest prospect list for whatever its worth, I'm guessing he ends up being a late 1st or early 2nd. At the start of the season I was thinking he would be 3rd or 4th round.
Hard to ignore what he's doing right now offensively, he's added physicality to his game and his wrister from the point is sneaky and accurate and he plays solid defense.

In a weaker draft he might end up mid 1st round, this year is a strong draft overall. Falling to 2nd round might not be a bad thing, rebuilding teams have bigger opportunities.

Morin didn't register a point yesterday but neither did his teammate Connor Bedard so no shame there.
