honestly wonder if the Titan can strike some sort of deal for Carrier, would be a nice fit in our top 6, plus we have multiple picks we could use that Moncton could flip for other stuff. Or move a guy like Perron on the backend.

Assuming Carrier did request a trade, it doesn't necessarily mean much ... he could change his mind with a new coach in place, or the team could just ignore his request - half of the Cape Breton team asked for trades at this time last year, and they went on to have one of their best seasons in years under a new coach. Lacroix did seem reluctant to give Carrier chances ... maybe there was something behind the scenes that he didn't like? To us outsiders, Carrier was a high pick who seem to show flashes of promise - but maybe the coaches felt he wasn't earning more opportunities, either by his on or off ice actions? He was still a 16 year old rookie, on a team that had a fair number of veteran forwards. It is on him to earn his opportunities just as much as it is on the coach to spoon feed him based on his pedigree. I am sure Lacroix wasn't trying to lose games on purpose, so he must have had his reasons as to why Carrier kept getting passed over in favor of other players when it seemingly made no sense to fans? Maybe Carrier needs to look in the mirror?? Half the Cape Breton Team requested a Trade ? News to Me . It's not to me. I heard many top players were unhappy after last season and asked to be moved only to be talked out of it and asked to give Robitaille a shot, basically. |

I believe that the teams can announce any trades today, because there is a full window. That being said, there is normally a handshake agreement that anything involving a 2024 1st wouldn't be announced until Friday during the draft to make it more exciting. |

Yea, I fully expect, for example, Cataford to Rimouski to be announced as Rimouski's 1st round pick is on the clock. It just makes the draft a bit more exciting and fills the dead spaces in the draft.

I always wonder how accurate these lists actually are. Cornforth, Eiserman and Gould aren’t listed on the 2023 pre-season list, but are listed on the 2024 list. Are the lists on the website updated to remove guys from the pre-season rosters if they don’t show up to camp even if they stay on the protected list? Not many surprises on the list, I’m actually more surprised that some guys are still on the list than those that were removed. The only person that was removed that I’m surprised about is Eli James. I figured that they would have kept him on the list as an extra goalie. Must be planning to pick up a couple of goalies over the weekend. |
