Titan select Juraj Pekarcik 2nd overall. 2005 born and He was recently drafted in the 3rd round by the St. Louis Blues, 76th overall.
I really hope he's willing to report as he seems like a solid player. Have to think if they pick him this high he's likely coming. However, eliteprospects have him listed as playing in Slovakia for the 2023-2024 season....

Markas Samenas confirmed not returning as well as he was just re-drafted in the import draft by Flint.

Titan draft goalie Antoine Keller 62nd overall. 2005 born and He was recently drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 7th round. Had solid numbers in his respectable leagues.
seems like he will challenge Fleming for the starting job, they could be a solid tandem if he reports.
if both players report I see this as a pretty solid win. Been a while since we would have 2 NHL drafted players report out of the import draft. (or maybe it would be the first time I'm not entirely sure).

There is no new D. They have no choice to add rookie player at D position in september. With 2 strong goalies and a solid group of D, Titan will not be a the end of the ranking.

I can see us potentially finishing as high as 3rd in the Maritime division, behind Halifax and Moncton. But Cape-Breton will also be fighting for the top 3 so 4th is probably more likely. This team is also filled with 19 year olds, so if they take a big step forward this team could be more competitive than expected. However, I expect us to maybe move a couple guys around camp time if some younger guys show more promise. I can see us adding an OA D as well and moving on from Forster, if he's back I'll be shocked.

Even with 2 great Europeans I think Bathurst is a tier below. Especially when CB adds more which is already the clear message from management. I think Moncton is a full step ahead as well. This season should be a bit more interesting in general with nobody really taking a huge step back. If all these Europeans report it should only help all of the teams in terms of interest.

This team could surprise in some ways if Fleming, Clements, Higgins, Perron, Henneberry, Andrews, Lallier, etc. all take jumps and the 2 euros report we could be slightly better than expected.

Pekarcik confirm to report ? I still haven't heard anything yet myself, and eliteprospects still has him reported as playing for HK Nitra in Slovakia next year. The team will likely be in talks with St. Louis as well to see what the plan is, he's only 18 as well so even if he doesn't come this season maybe he comes next before making the jump to the AHL. Would love to see him report though, he could end up being one of the best euro's this team ever had report.

wonder if this changes anything...right now I'd say there's less than 50% chance he reports here sadly, which would really suck.. but he's still listed as playing in Slovakia next season.

Just sucks for the paying fans. You hope to turn a corner and you see this kid picked and you read up on him...then this happens.
Was it smart managing? That import draft is impossible to predict and the leagues keep making it harder on small market teams for some reason.
The ability to trade that pick directly helps small market teams. Are they trading it to a big market team to pick a guy who they want? Usually, yes. And the argument should also be made that in a draft with all 3 leagues we should want the Halifax's and Quebec's to bring in the best players possible if they can.
We give teams compensation picks if their domestic 1sts and 2nds don't report...why nothing for these? Toss a team a 3rd or 4th round midget pick if they get the short end of these recruitment wars. It's the paying fans in the small market who feel slighted yet again. With the league still thinking hurting both the smaller and the bigger markets is the way to solve it.

sigh...
Yeah this is definitely a tough pill to swallow...he would've been one of the best euros this team ever seen. Could've been a potential 70+ point guy for 2 seasons as well and could've helped us definitely win more games.
here's hoping the goalie at least reports...
