He’s an age fit, but Moncton already has a log jam up front with about 11 guys who should regularly be playing top 9: Loshing-Desnoyer-Mercier Smith-Sumpf-Auger Mueller-Lounsbury-Collard Carrier-Trenholm Moncton would have to move a couple guys to make it work. I do think Charlottetown is probably a better situation for him because he can walk in and play on the top 2 lines.

And that entire top 9 forwards will all be returning next season, except potentially Auger. So any deal for another forward would have to involve him at this point. There is really no obvious deal for Moncton heading into this trade period. Not a bad spot to be in.

He has really taken a step forward and looks like a guy who could be physically ready to play with men next season ...

I'll throw this out there as a potential cheap upgrade for someone at Xmas ... anyone know the euro eligibility rules well enough to know if Jonas Taibel would be eligible to return after the World juniors a la Adam Bezak? He is currently injured, but doesn't seem to have gotten much traction playing pro in Switzerland ... wonder if he could be enticed to return to NA for the second half?

I just don't see Peddle as a good fit in Moncton and you have nothing on your roster that Drummondville needs now, which is scoring and size. At some point I think the Cats will consider moving a guy like Carrier in order to make a move all in, so maybe the Volts would consider him as part of a re-build, not sure.
I think the cats need 19 year old depth for next season, Peddle is not that guy.
Islanders are a much better dance partner for this one I think

Taibel is eligible, but he was recalled back to the top swiss league before getting hurt. I think this is a situation where Moncton's new friends in SJ could help.

Am I correct that Taibel is an option not just for Moncton but for every team in the Q? CHL? I don't believe so. I believe that he would have had to be claimed in the Import draft, but those rules are a closely guarded secret and may potentially change based on the whims and fancies of the leagues. That being said, he could sign with Moncton and have them waive him.

I would be interested in the Cats acquiring Mateiko. I think Glas could be top 6 player eventually in this league, but I'm not sure I really see it in the next 2 seasons when they need him. It might make more sense to fill the 2nd euro slot with a sure bet then take a gamble on the crapshoot that is the Euro draft now unless they have someone specific in mind to use a pick on.

Islanders are a much better dance partner for this one I think I don’t think Peddle is a fit on Moncton either because Moncton doesn’t have room for him / doesn’t need him, not because Moncton doesn’t have anyone on their roster that Drummondville would want. Moncton is a top 5 team and second in the league in scoring. If they really wanted Peddle, I doubt many teams could beat their offer. Moncton just doesn’t need Peddle, they are already returning 9 of their top 11 forwards next year and may look to add an impact Euro. Unless Peddle completely turns it around, he doesn’t move the needle.

Peddle needs to play and Moncton has like... 8 guys I'd rather see playing ahead of him, Loshing, Mueller, Collard, Sumpf, Lounsburry, Mercier, Carrier and Desnoyers for sure. There's no way you can promise Peddle what he probably needs which is PP1 time and top 6 minutes.

When does the trade period open ? Doing a quick and dirty look at the schedule, I would say 11am Atlantic on the 17th (with the caveat that we also don't know if the league is posting trades on the 17th and if so, what hours).
