Mueller was flying for you guys yesterday by far the best player on the ice is he coming back next year? Unfortunately (for the cats) he's signed on with a pro team in Switzerland for next season. With his jump from 18 to 19 he could have been an 70-80 point guy as a 20 year old, especially given that would mean the entire line with Collard & Lounsbury would be back. Perhaps something will change, but the Swiss League pays well and gets good crowds so it's hard to blame him wanting to get a start on a pro career at home. We've seen similar happening with Taibel & Biasca. One of the better improvements from year to year I can remember in a player.

Theo Rochette signed in Switzerland during his 19yr old season and still came back to the Remparts as a 20yr old.

that's why I kinda wanted them to pick up a physical stay at home type D-man this season , they have alot of depth on the top 3 lines and a good goaltender, but prices seemed really high, they have really good team if they can gel as a team at the right time, but don't want to meet a grinding style team with lots of hitting ( don't want to play CB ... they seem to play the cats hard !

Who would you have moved out to make room for a defensive defenseman?

Thinking about the team next year also , I would probably move Plandowski or Grenier both which have some trade value for a 18 or 19 year old defensive defenceman. They would still have AFG and Morin to run the powerplay next year, I do like Grenier running the 2nd PP unit but I think AFG if given a chance would work.
I wouldn't be worried about putting anyone with Morin or Boutin as they both make their partners better
IMO they have depth scoring and depth in the nets, can't remember the last time the cats had this much depth without trading the farm for it . Since I have been following the team... 2009 they never seem to win on a trade , and always overpay, I know no one predicted what happened when they loaded up and the Pandemic shut everything down , but Sherbrooke and Rimouski both bounced back faster then Moncton did. I would rather see them buy when they have a good team built through the draft like this season , and I don't think they would have had to give too much up if they would have picked up a solid defensive defenceman late novemeber or early december.

Moncton has a good team and some depth at all positions, looking forward to the playoffs , barring big injuries they should challenge for the conference . I can't wait , we shall see how good a coach Lacroix is with this young fast team. Go Cats

Going to be hard to find ice time with 8 D It seems from the L’Acadie Nouvelle article that they cut Dubreuil. He’s still showing up on the roster though so not sure if the article was wrong? Also, apparently Mueller was quite sought after, and has already told Moncton he’s not coming back next year. Hopefully, they’re confident that they don’t need the assets they could have got for him.
