I have 0 inside info but... MacKinnon at the draft makes a lot of sense here. That would make sense. They’re losing 2 top 4 defencemen next year so adding MacKinnon would would take pressure off. That said, I’d hope Grenier and AFG could be solid top 4 guys by next year. Well that's the thing - a Mem cup contender ideally has a guy who can jump into your top 4 playing in the 5 slot, because injuries happen and depth is always good.

That's a good one... Lol Watch a game once in a while before commenting on the Isles.

I know Trenholm cost two 2nds to bring him in but I'm wondering if the team upgrades on him? I feel like Moncton could be a real sleeper threat in the playoffs. I know they're targeting next year more but if you can get an upgrade OA on the cheaper end then it would be a good idea no?

another food for thought, is Steinman the right guy if this team is targeting next year likely?
Moncton is still very strong this year, but I find Steinman is maybe a slight step behind Darveau, Rousseau, Rousseau, Gravel, and Mercer (maybe)?.
brings the question of St-Hilaire in Sherbrooke, he's one of the best goalies in the league and only really Drummondville + Moncton out of the contenders could use him as an upgrade. Wonder if it's a possibility there.
St-Hilaire would give a solid 1 and 1/2 years.

Not paying a dime to upgrade him.

Biggest need is a physical defensive defenceman

Biggest need is a physical defensive defenceman There's one available, but who would you play him over?

Sidney Deslauriers traded to Victoriaville for a 4th round pick. Good return honestly, he was in tough to be part of the team next season.

Sidney Deslauriers traded to Victoriaville for a 4th round pick. Good for the player. Just too many forwards , this trade will get him some playing time and closer to home

I have no problem with the trade or return, but I did think he and Sampson would have regular 4th line roles next season. Moncton doesn’t have many forwards in the system that would push for a role. It seems like Schlender is having a bit of a disappointing season in AAA. Moncton can easily fill the 4th line roles with trades or free agents so certainly not worried, just a bit surprised I guess.

I could possibly mean maybe someone is incoming Cormier? Even if you bring up Cormier there's really no playing time for him when everyone's healthy. If he comes up I'd assume it's more about Deslauriers wanting a trade then making room for Cormier. Victo doesn't have as much depth after the top 6 so he should be able to get in the lineup every game there. The 4th line is a 1st round pick, a euro and a 20 year old. Glas isn't bringing a whole lot but based on the first half it seems they want him in the lineup every night. If they cats want to add anyone with the intention of playing them they will need to trade another forward. Same situation on D.
