Since 99/00 he’s in the top 30 of PPG in a career in the Q with 1.68, 15th of the players with over 100 games played. There’s 1 player with more games played than him that has a higher PPG over that time frame. In the last 2.5 seasons, he’s averaging over 1.9 PPG.
Everyone can be upset about how things are ending, speculate on what the truth is and arrive at their opinion but for nearly 200 games this kid was a Halifax success story and darling. Don’t let this overshadow the greatness that everyone witnessed.

What a PR mess. I miss Bobby.. The new ownership is a mess and I do not recognize Cam on that topic. It looks like the Moose are trying to protect themsleves with the League and Fans and they don’t care about what happens as he is finished with the team. Everyone that knows a player or are friend of a player or billet family know that Dumais cannot skate, he was hurting the past few weeks just trying to have a light skate. He was never closed to a return, but the team will never admit it. A big mess, good luck to him.

Instead of a "one line team".......maybe they were a "one player team"?

YHZ to YUL From what I heard he didn't rage quit, he left because he needs surgery again. The word going around is he doesn’t need surgery and told Cam to trade him back when he came back from the World Jr’s. He told the team then he would never play for the moose again. The he needs surgery talk and everything might come clear once the team is eliminated and how quick he’s with Columbus’s AHL team.

A lot of people making a lot of speculations in this thread.
I think he was trying to work his way back to the team for playoffs, but then the DUI and suspension threw a wrench into his (and the teams) motivation. Unless we hear something factual about his attitude, trade requests, coach issues etc... I'd likely just assume the situation to return to the team lost all its momentum and sensibility (game 2 of playoffs, public reaction/embarrassment, you just lost your top defenseman for the season etc).
He was a class act, elite talent, and the all time leading scorer while he played for the moose. Just a shitty end to it all.

Here’s the other side what I said in my previous post could be true too. Now I want to add if it is he’s entitled to that too. Here’s the thing, we’re Moosehead fans and we look highly on the team as a whole. That’s what fans do. However we’re talking about teenagers and they are entitled to ask for trades because it’s their life they need to live. If I was in his shoes 10 years from now will I be losing sleep on how things played out in Halifax. Other than the DUI probably not. We often as fans of our team forget a few things. One these are teenagers and they don’t have much of a say. It’s not like the NHL where they can just sign to a different team after a season or 2 (depending on contract). The teams have all the power here. 2nd thing to think of is they are teenagers and teenagers have vastly different lives than us adults talking on this Chat board. Think about it girl problems? Math tests! The few that are from Quebec or Europe learning English. It’s a lot that I’m guessing 90% of us on this board can’t relate too. 3rd I personally don’t care that he asked for a trade, if it’s true( for what it worth I think he did). He’s entitled to it. He and his family are allowed to make those type of decisions for their own good. Now in saying all that, You really can’t say he’s a class act with the DUI part. Once again 2 sides to that. 1 innocent till proven guilty, and I truly believe in that. 2 I’ve said it like 10 times, he’s a teenager and they make brain dead mistakes. However in today age with all the ride shares and that age group being very into that stuff, IMO there’s no excuse. Just IMO.

Once again his legacy will be destroyed after all this. Lets be honest he would not have mad a difference with this team right now.
He was a great CHL player and I dont think anyone will ever question that. Is he an NHL player? I am not sure about that, his skating is just okay and the ability to play a phyical game is always going to be a concern. That release and the vision is honestly off the charts.
The kid has a long way to go and he is always about showing people that he was wrong.
I dont know if he is mad about how the Mooseheads have treated him, I dont know if Midgly is the issue, I dont know if the DUI was to much for him to mentally deal with. What I do know is when he was here he was fun to watch, it is so wrong how things finished but many people are to blame her including him.
This does not look good for the Mooseheads in anyway. And I dont think what happens tonight matters except one more home game.

There’s no excuse for getting a DUI but I do also wonder if he was over the legal limit or does he have a restriction on his license? Where maybe he wouldn’t have blown over the legal limit with a full license but because of the restrictions, the tolerance is 0. At the end of the day, the law is still the same but there’s a difference in my opinion (from a moral perspective) between a person having 1 beer and blowing under a .08 but because of their license restriction, it’s going to be classified as a DUI vs a person blowing over the legal limit. Some people never get the N removed, you could be 50 driving for 30+ years and still get hit with a DUI if you had one beer. The legal side will all play itself out and in my eyes it should always be innocent until proven guilty but the court of public opinion doesn’t care about that unfortunately.
