this may be a tad early but I wanted to do this for fun. It's been an up and down year but next year could be more promising.
the season is coming to a close and soon playoff hockey will be here. The Titan are very likely to face Halifax in the first round and could make an exciting series out of it, I could see this team even potentially upsetting the Moose, or at least going to 7. Rousseau will be a huge factor, and if Dumais will be back on time as well could shift the pendulum. But besides that let's look at what this squad might look like to start the year next season.
This lineup is a bit hard to predict as there's rumors of a player coming at the draft from Victoriaville. Not 100% sure on any futures from Rouyn-Noranda.
Huggan - Belanger - Lallier new euro/Ponzetto? - St-Onge - Sharkey Pilgrim-Edwards - Peddigrew - Frechette draft - draft - Dickson Paul? Marmulak? Legere? Rushton?
The Titan will be returning a good amount of forwards, and they have a couple in the farm system who could make the jump. Andrews could've been considered for one of the OA slots but I think it's unlikely and we see an OA come at the draft. Huggan is a lock so far. McRae doesn't seem likely as well.
The question I have about this forward group is our center depth able to take that next step? Not sure if Belanger will be a 1C next year but it's possible. I can also see someone like Frechette being moved/cut.
This team is also lacking in size up front severely...so addressing that might be important.
D core:
Perron - Clements Laberge - Roy?/OA? (potential OA from Victoriaville) MacGillivray? - Reynolds Robichaud? - draft
Perron and Clements have been a decent pair together and could take an even bigger leap next year, Laberge's potential is also pretty high and he's quietly having a good year. PO Roy would be a huge add at the draft if possible, however we don't know details if the trade is finalized. Larose would be huge but very doubtful as he's Victo's biggest trade chip. Justin Gendron as a future is another possibility and a NB born player.
MacGillivray is someone I can see being moved/cut, same with Deleau and Robichaud. Deleau had already asked for a trade and no bites over Christmas.
Drafting a young D would be ideal as well.
goalies: Keller draft
as for the goalies I think if Keller returns you 100% run with him and move Fleming, then draft a new euro and move Ponzetto. If Keller doesn't return you can run with Fleming and potentially keep Ponzetto as well. If they can somehow get a strong forward euro I think that's most ideal.
Drafting a young goalie in the 2nd round is probably likely/ideal. The Titan have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds so taking a goalie somewhere there makes sense as past this season we don't really have one lined up to be the starter.
either way as it stands I'm not sure if this squad finishes all too much higher next year unless they add some big pieces, or guys take a big jump but there's still lots of question marks.
let me know what y'all think and if I missed anything important. Thanks!

(what i want the titans to do)I think benjamin brunelle will be with the titans next year im hearing a pick will go back and brunelle will come in probably 1 or both seconds. We know the henneberry trade isnt complete so another peice there will come in and the 2026 first goes back. The #1 goal should be to get into the top 5 this year i know that isnt easy but we have 5 total firsts and 4 total 2nds in the next two drafts we can certainly do it. we also have our best capital in 2025 and that would make it hard to go for it with belanger and laberge either we try and move the 2025 picks for draft capital in 2024 or grab a few elite 17year olds

Mind you he will technically be a 2 year player and he brings some much needed size to the roster next year and was a 20 goal scorer. Either way I'm sure Gordie has some good pieces in place and this team could still be stronger next season especially if guys like Perron, Clements, Laberge, Bellanger, Keller, etc. continue to develop. The only tough part is they don't really have a clear direction to build for unless they hard build for the 2025 draft and compete in 2027 or 2028. Who knows though, with a couple big pieces added next years squad could arguably be even better than the current one, worst case if they don't play as good we have a lot of big pieces to move again to add more to the future stock. One thing for Gordie not to do is get trigger happy either, having all these picks is really good but I don't want him overpaying because we have an influx either. Something Couturier was known to do... It'll be a very interesting off season for this team.

The team was carried big time by Roelens and Orr. Without someone to replace them, the Titan might not be as good as they were this year. Andrews is playing much better especially in the playoffs. Seems like someone auditioning for a 20YO spot but it might be too little too late. Should have been playing like this starting as a 17YO. I'm not sold on Lallier and I know I'm not the only one. Not enough of a team player. Great skills though. Laberge's play as a rookie is fabulous.

I razed Dywer for the Kidney trade but he got away with it. Guys played way better than I thought. Maybe better than he thought too. Kidney for 1st round pick and 1 1/2 years of Orr and Donovan Arsenault (which became a 1st round pick.)
Remember that Orr was drafted by Saint John but I believe he wouldn't go there. Was traded to Halifax who gave up on him and traded him to Gatineau. Gatineau wasn't impressed and dropped him to the 3rd line. He wasn't coming to Bathurst with the best of reputations BUT what a huge pickup he ended up being. Not a Kidney but he was a top line player the whole time he was here.
So it was Kidney for a 1st rd pick 1 year of Donovan and a 1st round pick for Donovan 1 1/2 years of Orr
That's something I think I can live with.

Very good trade at the end of the day we got 2 first and an unreal roster player. Looking at the Henneberry trade and even the Higgins tarde although i feel Higgins was worth every penny Rouyn paid Gordie is cooking his way to the top and will continue to do so.

Andrews has been good as of late, but I don't think he takes an OA spot. I think Huggan and Keller are locks (if he's back), and then ideally go and get a top OA elsewhere. McRae has also been good as of late but same situation. Our top 3 D of Laberge, Clements, and Perron have been awesome and if they take that next step they will be dangerous back there. Laberge is one of the most impressive players on this roster, he plays so calm and smooth, I hope some NHL teams notice that. He's looking like a steal so far where we drafted him. Lallier has stuff to work on for sure but the talent is there.
