final trade becomes
Higgins for Buteau, Reynolds, two 2nds. Not bad overall for a free agent add.
if Buteau has a strong start we could see him maybe flipped as well over Christmas.

It's not done, Rouyn just sent the 2026 1st to Blainville for the 19th pick this year. I expect that will come back to Bathurst for the 2026 2nd. |

Awful trade for the team imo i get its a future and it was already determined but this sucks yeah having those extra 1sts is always nice, Higgins had a strong 2nd half with the Huskies as well and could be arguably traded for similar this season what they paid for him in the end... End of day Higgins was a free agent add though and we still got some solid value overall and if Buteau plays well he could be flipped or really help that D core become more competitive. Hoping Reynolds takes that next step too. At least the 2026 2nd could end up being a high 2nd as well. That 2026 1st could be a lottery pick too which definitely hurts a bit to not keep. Rouyn likely in a rebuild the next 2 seasons with how many guys are OA's now. |
