Been quiet here lately.
We'll have 20s to sort out:
Tivey Laforge Ianniello Mann
I can see one of Tivey or Ianniello moved. Can't see Laforge sticking as a 20. Likely we make a trade and/or go the waiver route. For the price we paid for Mann I can't see us moving him.
19s: Peddle Benoit Bilodeau Simek
18s: Richard Beaudry MacLean Calder Beaulieu Reynolds Mateiko Miller Robinson
17s: Amyot Groulx Beveridge Duhamel
Plus our picks
We should have a decent euro pick and could see one of Simek or Mateiko moved to better suit our next run.

I would like to see an OA FW brought in who can play higher in the lineup I think a couple of our 18s should be in tough to be here next year, though SJ has been known to be loyal, even when it comes to an inferior player. We're sitting on picks 6 and 8 which is pretty much the worst case scenario, given that we gave the worse team of the two two important pieces in their second half resurgence. At this point, I think we can recruit a heck of a player if we are sitting on the 4th or 7th pick.

I really think we could be worse next season than this one. I'm sure I can't be the only one thinking this.

I think Robinson is a great goaltender but would love to see a soild 20 as part of the team also. Keep one of the 20s that are D. And bring in a 20 top line forward.

I don’t see any reason to keep 3 20yr D. I also expect Mann to play somewhere else not in Q where he can develop more. Tivey I expect to be moved by Christmas. I agree there might be a few 18yr olds having a hard time coming back next year. This is just my thoughts for upcoming season
20s Tivey (until Christmas) Ianniello Forward who can play top 6
19s: Peddle Bilodeau Simek
18s: MacLean Calder Beaulieu Reynolds Mateiko Miller Robinson
17s: Amyot Groulx Beveridge Duhamel
Plus 1 or 2 16yr olds.
I also would like to see a solid backup goalie to help Robinson. Not sure a 20yr is the right fit for that. I would love to see a 20yr forward.

I can easily see 2-3 of them being either traded or just sent home unfortunately. 2 picks in first round yes, but not sure both will be ready to play right away. Can't wait to see the last CSR standings even though not 100% accurate. Personally I always thought it was strange to pickup so many guys that did not make the OHL cut (5 total on roster this season). We have so many good players available in Quebec and in the Maritimes that have been dreaming to play in the Q since their young age, why not pick these guys that would end up being same level as our ON guys? All other teams have maybe 1 max 2 from Ontario. I just found it particular that Sea Dogs have allot more. I am not saying that they are not good players, but the OHL and QJMHL both exist to host players from their served areas. Goalies, pretty sure they will be shopping this summer for another goalie. Labbe (2007) last year said he wanted to go the US route. No clue if he got any offers.

Who would you get rid of in the 18s?

Thanks for starting this thread alpagino! With one season coming to an end it is always fun to look to the next.
Will Mann count as a 20 next year being 19 to start the season? I thought someone referenced it was your age at start of regular season that was used. If so, then could see us keeping Ianello and Tivey. Maybe LaForge plays Jr. A or University hockey next season and we sign/trade for an OA forward.
Also, who has the Sea Dogs first round pick this summer? I know we have Gatineau and Blainville's currently.

Assuming SJ were to take a FW and a D in the draft, I could see something like:
Mateiko - Miller - Beveridge Import - Peddle - New OA Reynolds - Groulx - Draft Pick Draft Pick - Beaulieu - Beaudry Calder Beaudoin
Tivey/Ianniello - Mann Amyot - Duhamel MacLean - Richard Draft Pick Bonnet
Robinson Labbe/Girard
Note: This is super early and I've likely forgotten someone

Depending on what exactly the Dogs are looking for in an OA position next year, I think Antione Roy would be a good fit from CB. New Brunswick kid with decent size and an Excellent PK and Faceoff ethic. I think he could be a great influence on the younger players and will be a victim of a numbers crunch on CB next season, could probably be had for next to nothing.

I think there will be a few guys not back next year for sure and the GM will be trying to find some gems in Ontario again.
Mateiko - Miller - Beveridge Simek - Peddle - Reynolds Calder - Groulx - FA Draft Pick - Beaulieu - Beaudry
Tivey- Ianniello Maclean-Amyot Duhamel- draft pick
Robinson New OA
I expect Tivey to be moved at Christmas and Mateiko could be moved by draft as well.

I'll be surprised and disappointed if they use a 20 year old spot on a goalie next year. I'm pretty sure the plan is for Robinson to be the #1 guy next year. He'll have a much better chance at success with three 20s playing in front of him than two 20s and one on the bench.
