The goaltender that was at camp last year from Ontario looked good to me last year. Could he be back? I would be open to seeing an OA player for a spot. For D I am excited to see how the younger players step up this year. Amyot and Duhamel. I think Richard might be better in Jr A. Maclean was starting to stand out to me towards the end. Being physical and I think he might have a chance. I really like Bilodeau and would love to see him back next season. I love your thoughts for up front. I think Miller could be strong up front this season. Peddle was really standing out at the end of last season. Would love to see an OA up front. I am not sure in Beaulieu. 10 years ago I think he would have a spot. But with not much rough stuff anymore I really don't see the need and with us going with a younger team I think someone like Beaudoin might be a better fit. Monaco was dropped from the protected list, so I don't think he will be back. Getting another 18 yo from Ontario who could be a Monaco-like invite would work well. In terms of an overager, that depends on what they think of Robinson. If they want to give him a shot at starting, then adding an overager is a waste. For the D, there are many different things that could happen. IMO, if Chartrand comes, he gets planted on the 2nd pair. Both MacLean and Richard have reached the age where they would need to outplay any invites (and arguably need to be better than 17s as opposed to being as good). That's not to say that they can't. One guy to look out for at camp will hopefully be Bonnet. I agree with goalies and forwards there is room to get stronger. I have to agree with Dogshockeyfan on D. I like a stay at home D and MacLean showed that and he likes to play physical. I also think he has lots of room to grow as he did miss a full year of hockey a few years ago due to an injury. Richard’s I think would benefit from JrA

I admit, i don't know a lot of Mateiko..or SJ the past couple seasons.....does he compare at all to former CB Eagle, Egor Sokolov? Both big players who score....and yes, both Euros.

Sokolov's calling card was his shot. Mateiko's calling card is small space plays. If SJ played Latvia's PP with him, people would see how good he is offensively but they limited him (Latvia's PP is Moose directly in front but allowing him to drop behind the goal for passes out front) Even if you put NHL D out there, a lot of the things he does well still happen (shielding the puck, head up and look for the tiny gap) though the things he struggles with would become glaringly obvious. His skating has improved a lot and he is also a decent PK guy.

t.co/X5tTyNfIlpOver the last three seasons, the Youngstown Phantoms have added a litany of high-end talent. Add Canadian-born forward Dylan Rozzi to that list. If that name rings a bell, it’s because Dylan’s brother Jake won the Clark Cup with the Phantoms two seasons ago. Now Dylan Rozzi looks to achieve the same thing and is expected to be a major contributor over the next few seasons. Despite being selected in the first round of the QMJHL Draft — eighth overall by the Saint John Sea Dogs — Rozzi was at Phantoms camp this past week with an intent to play in Youngstown.

This is not good for the Dogs this year but if they keep his rights they still have a chance to convince him to come next year or year after. If they let him go they get a kick back next year but I assume it would be later in 1st round.

Thanks that’s something I did not know when they pick. Do we think the other two 1st round picks will show up?

Thanks that’s something I did not know when they pick. Do we think the other two 1st round picks will show up? At this point, I have absolutely no idea what to expect. If SJ walks away from this draft with only Yared, Scanzano and Bourque showing up to camp, I will be very disappointed. But there is always the opportunity for things to change.

Is there a concern Yared might go to states as well?

Is there a concern Yared might go to states as well? Can't see it. Not drafted to any one

Ok good! So it looks like Rozzi and Chartrand might be heading to the states. This will make it hard to make the next run around 2008 kids.
