I think there will be a few guys not back next year for sure and the GM will be trying to find some gems in Ontario again. Mateiko - Miller - Beveridge Simek - Peddle - Reynolds Calder - Groulx - FA Draft Pick - Beaulieu - Beaudry Tivey- Ianniello Maclean-Amyot Duhamel- draft pick Robinson New OA I expect Tivey to be moved at Christmas and Mateiko could be moved by draft as well. Ianello will be released.. |

Looks like still work to be done on D. I was able to catch game yesterday and impressed with Allan. I thought he would have made the team. I liked the two 16yr olds they looked good.

Obviously some things to work out still on defence. I would put up an argument for Beaudry over Richard's though. Ben came a long way over last year and looked good in camp. |

Not a fan of this move at all. The last thing I wanted was to use a 20-year old spot on a goalie again. While adding an OA goalie is a tough sell, we did just add a top 5 goalie for a 4th and a 5th. With Robinson having limited experience, Ruggiero struggling mightily and every other option being inexperienced, there was a real fear about where we were to start this year. As long as Beaulieu and Calder are strictly 4th liners, I can handle the FW corps, though I would really like to see SJ pick someone up in the waiver draft today (maybe even Allen). |

Do you think islanders might have been asking to much for him and that’s why they did not keep Allan. Watching game on Saturday I thought he looked good with the two 16yr old. I wonder did the islanders ask for someone from roster.

I wonder did the islanders ask for someone from roster. Too much is relative. At what price would you rather have Allen in the top 9 over Darien Reynolds? I think that anything above say a 10th might be too much for that (because while Allen is definitely better, Reynolds is no slouch). That being said, unless Charlottetown offered Allen a spot, they'd have to expose him to waivers. The other possibility is to get someone more raw but with some potential (someone who got caught up in a numbers game and would have been an 18 yo rookie). |

I don’t know much about FA but SJ has the 3rd pick correct? When does it open and close? If you go after an 18yr caught up in numbers game it could be a good deal as the team needs a stronger top 9. You want the 4th line guys only needed to play 4th line.

We will either find out when someone magically appears on our roster on the Q site or when we see an announcement (more likely if it is a Quebec-based team). |

I think they should have kept Beaudry (who looked great at camp and has potential) over Richard. Beaulieu seemed to struggle a bit in training and at the preseason game, I wondered if he would be released. Fans love to watch him, but could he be a liability taking frequent penalties with a young team? He did seem more reserved at the game in Fredericton though. Looking forward to the season! |

I feel SJ has a new guy for laying out the big hits Caputo. He likes to throw the body around but he does not have great hands. I noticed they played him up front some on Saturday as well. Not sure if that was because of misconducts or are they looking to see what he can do.
