Hopefully he shows up eventually. I was really looking forward to watching him this year. I was expecting/hoping for a big step forward with an increased role this year.

I think if it was a physical injury, the team would have already mentioned it. Remember that he is only 17. Any other reasons would respectfully not be discussed I assume. I sure hope that he will be back soon, great player. Or it could just be the team being cautious. If they expected Beveridge to be out long-term, it would make sense to have 14 forwards so that SJ has an extra for now. At that point, Richard would have been 12th forward for the foreseeable future and likely an every day player. Is there another trade window? Could he have asked to be traded and just sitting and waiting? |

Saint John did the same thing with Rouleau last year. Once he clears waivers, he becomes AP eligible AFAIK. |

Yeah, that's a pretty ugly matchup. I get that Cape Breton is going to play their guys (especially since they want to form chemistry quickly). Saint John is resting the guys headed to NHL camps, Beveridge isn't in camp yet, and I have no idea what's going on with the D (there may be injuries there). |

Cape Breton is a top 5 team with almost their entire lineup playing. Saint John is a bottom half team and have their bottom 6 D dressed as well as only having 5 of their top 9 FW dressed. This isn't uncommon in preseason. |
