Why should he have Armada/Quebec bias? He's not working for a media owned by Quebecor. He could just not care about the Sea Dogs considering he's working for a local Quebec City newspapers and not a national outlet. As far as I know, he covered the story first, even before Saint John or NB reporters. Besides, the part about the playoffs is just stating a fact. Saying Lalancette has bias for Quebec is ridiculous considering he grew up as a Sags fan hating the Remparts! He does no doubt. Why throw a shot at a maritime team dating back to 2017 makes no sense. Because they're a market who spends big resources and it's absolute insanity that the statement is even true.

what does any of it have to do with the 2017 playoff loss? Hes throwing a shot as he is stating a fact its clear 2017 has nothing to do with morin joinng the seasdogs 7 almost 8 years later? I'm reading the first piece from Lalancette and nowhere does he even mention 2017 in the article. The whole thing is built aroung Stella being fired. Morin is mentionned as a good news while arriving at the same time this is happening. He tip toes around it. Its not just this post either.

Lalancette no longer works for Québecor group, therefore has no link with either team. Also, the Armada has been sold in 2023; Québecor is now a minority shareholder while they still own the Remparts. While this is true, even his LinkedIn still lists him as animateur and chroniqueur which would primarily be contract roles for Quebecor Indeed, but where most if not all people got Lalancette's writing is linked to his X account, where his current work is clearly stated : Directeur des sports du quotidien Le Soleil de Québec. Journaliste, chroniqueur et auteur de six livres. Reading this, I honestly don't think the man has either time or will to start some kind of controversy. This article quoted on this topic is mainly intended to french Q fans, even jthough it made it's way here

And, what more, what is your degree of fluency in french to catch the guy is even tip toeing?

I also am bilingual although english is my second language. I'm from Moncton and have been living in QUE province for quite a while now. Even for us francophones, as you might be aware, there is a language barrier between french speaking from either side of the province. As I already stated, I can understand why being from the Maritimes one would/could think there is a bias of this kind. I mean, as a francophone and strickly speaking from and among the francophone perspective, I'm well aware there is. That said, IMHO, this is why I think it shoudn't be overlooked. And also why I wouldn't put to much of it into what is being said in these articles.

I thought that it was special blaming him for stating a fact in a news article about the Sea Dogs considering he goes beyond his job for a local Quebec newspaper to cover the QMJHL as a whole.

When he has to explicitly walk back that his first article contained factually incorrect information and follows that up with a negative statement about the team, it is not an example of objective journalism.

Ok so Morin is here..... now someone has to leave..... Yes, at least one player must be re-assigned and I'm sure that the decision has already been made.

I think it's great that Morin is joining the team. Couldn't care less if the guy that reported it has some sort of bias or not. I can't believe that became the focus of that story.
