Game 1 line-up is in: Muller-Desnoyers-Mercier Loshing-Sumpf-Hayne Smith-Lounsbury-Collard Carrier-Trenholm-Auger Morin-Plandowski Boutin-Zielinski Grenier-AFG Steinman I mostly like this set up. If Hayne is playing he has to play in the top two lines so his spot in the line-up makes sense. I would probably flip Carrier and Smith as I didn't think that third line combination worked very well when Muller was away at WJC but let's see how it plays out now. Seven 16-year-olds playing in this game tonight. I respectfully disagree. Hayne must play on the top 2 lines but Carrier, a 6th overall pick who proved all year long that he deserved a chance to play more and at least one complete game on one of the top lines (Lacroix almost gave him nothing all year, no PP, etc.) is ok on the third line? I have nothing against Hayne, he played a good couple games with the team but Carrier should be on that second line and Hayne on the third or fourth. That's my opinion.

The wildcats at least came prepared to play and outplayed Chi the first 2 periods but could not score, no bounces went their way , Steinman played great but if they don't get their PP going this series will be over. The PP did not make any adjustments as a Chi played blocked at least 3 of loshings shots ( that I saw), they had someone right on him every PP.
When Moncton had the last PP with around 2 or3 min left , they should have pulled the goalie right away ( I was sitting close to the wildcats bench and a season ticketholder yelled out pull the goalie as soon as the PP started), instead they waited too long and Chi scored.

Cats had a good effort tonight, not much puck luck. PP was way too predictable but can’t fault their effort. PK was good but tough to win when you don’t score!

I agree they started the game on time so to speak, and this series is far from over, but it's painfully obvious we lack a game breaker. This team is benignly average (as an aside, this could be remedied next year with key players being older and the obvious upgrades coming at next year's trade deadline but that is next year). With some puck luck, thing may have been different in the first game, we move the puck well but lack finish.

Can someone tell me why he didn't pulled out the goalie, and take a timeout afther the 1st minute of PP to go back with the first wave plus Muller??

We keep on saying next year that’s been going on for at least 15 years or more

The playoffs are all about making adjustments mid-series. The power play specifically needs to be adjusted. It’s too predictable and the Sags have it figured out

We keep on saying next year that’s been going on for at least 15 years or more We did have an incredibly strong cup contender before they shut the league down for covid, we added quite a few pieces that year which has taken us until now to rebuild, and we are one year out from truly contending.

We keep on saying next year that’s been going on for at least 15 years or more Common denominator has been average at best coaching over that time period ... after being spoiled from 2005-2013 with Nolan-Torchetti (take 1)-Flynn, we have since had the far less impressive duo of Rumble followed by Lacroix, with the brief ill fated Torchetti Take 2 period in between.

While rumble was rumble, I think this team would honestly be better off with him.

I don't disagree that Carrier should have been given more opportunity. I'm saying that *if* Hayne is in the line-up he's in there to score goals and not much else so you play him with guys who can get him the puck. If he's on the fourth line you're better off having Sampson in there instead. Carrier can at least cause some havoc on his own. The lines went in a blender with Auger out so this didn't really matter anyway.
