The opening round matchup between the Islanders and Baie-Comeau resumes tonight in Charlottetown.
The games in Baie-Comeau were very tough and the Drakkar give us very little.
Hopefully we can squeeze out a win at home.
Game time is 7:00.

Hopefully Bickle has a few more good games in him this season and the rest of the guys play sharp in front of him. Would be nice to maximize the number of home games this round.

no Horth limits our already limited chances Oh he's officially out? I never saw what happened to him. Heard he was in pain, but a shot to the cup can do that too.

They're playing a team that finished 49 points ahead of them in the standings. I think they are maximizing their home games; it's just that the maximum will be two.

That was a no quit effort in the third. Good on them for trying until the end. A five minute span killed us tonight.
Campbell needs to play smarter though, he can be so effective getting under the opponent's skin and bringing in skill and physicality, but he takes way too many needless penalties. I hope they sit him down this summer and get him to smarten up, no reason he can't stand out as one of our overall best players.
That spear was so stupid by Conrad. I know it didn't look like much, but the ref was right there watching, what choice does he have with that call?
We have good players and a potential bright future, they just need to mentally mature too and learn when the right time is to maybe cross that line in your play.
But the agitation was pretty solid tonight, they got the Drakkar frustrated at times and taking penalties. Just gotta keep that stuff within the rules, or at least take a Drakkar player to the box with you.

Horth week to week
Good thing we held onto him

It is frustrating he is out but you can't go pointing fingers that he should have been traded because of an injury he sustained. It just is what it is. We'd be in the same spot with him or with another 20 y/o. We'd probably be in the same spot if we'd saved the picks we spend on Cole Huckins and just went with Kian Bell as a 20. I don't think Horth has been right since the afternoon he got checked into the open bench door against Quebec earlier in the winter. But on the topic of trading Horth, I bet Halifax maybe reconsiders that they maybe should have went after him instead of Peter Reynolds. Horth's league leading 19 power play goals might have been nice in the Mooeseheads lineup.... but then probably wouldn't have solved their problems this round either. quote author=" bois" source="/post/786328/thread" timestamp="1712109666"]Horth week to week Good thing we held onto him [/quote]

I really think this team has a bright future I like most of the young players but Campbell needs to go if he can’t smarten up send him to Bathurst to play with Sharkey and try and recoup some picks for him

Ultimately you hope that the young players can learn from the tough experience of this series and build confidence heading into playoffs the next couple of seasons.
Lots of concerns on the boards about Campbell's play this series. Is he showing the character and growth we are looking for as an 18, 19, and 20 y/o player. He needs to be physical and intense. That is his style. But can he play that way and not put us in a disadvantage with undisciplined play? I don't have an answer to that question.

some of you get very sensitive lol
it was obvious a year and a half ago we were in for a rebuild and should be moving assets to expedite the process
it's not hindsight to say good thing we held onto Horth when I was a proponent of moving him over a year ago lol
but go drink some kool aid
we don't have near enough to build around ... it's gonna be a very long process to get back to contention unless some unpopular moves are made
on a sidenote i was actually able to watch the game last night tho the play by play was trailing a good 5 seconds behind the picture...... kudos to the boys for battling back
hopefully a better crowd for them tonight and a good off season ahead for Isles fans
and hopefully Horth gets healthy and has a successful next endeavour in his hockey future
