Assuming he is coming it sounds like he's another Mackinnon type player. This D core will be much harder to play against than the 2023-24 version especially when you consider that this wont be a Dan Lacroix system.

Moncton drafted Aron Kiviharju with their second pick. Another defenceman - 18 year old who was picked by Minnesota in the 4th round. www.eliteprospects.com/player/526036/aron-kiviharjuNot sure if they expect this guy to report or if it’s just a hail Mary, but strange to draft 2 defencemen

There isn't a ton of high end D that will be available.

Assuming that both defenceman report, you have to think that Moncton’s defence core is among the top in the league now. Seems like they have a backlog back there now with Grenier and AFG likely back on the bottom pairing.

www.instagram.com/bardown/p/C847aq9O9jY/?img_index=1This clip is probably the reason the MacDougall's wanted him Hopefully he does come. He was originally rated for the first round by some scouts at the start of the year but dropped significantly due to injuries and questions on whether he can handle the physicality of the NHL (A little undersized). Scouting reports note he is a incredible puck-moving defenceman Best case scenario if they do come that pretty well plugs the holes from the departures of Boutin, Plando, and Z

Lalanchette has said that Rimouski is not trading for Gridin from Val d’Or and now says that Rimouski is sticking with the guys they picked.
I wonder if Val d’Or is still planning to trade him. If they do, it’s not hard to imagine Moncton being in on it. They’ve had a lot of success with Russians.
Maybe it’s why they took a flier with the 97th pick?

It seems like Moncton is the only team, at least in the maritimes, that hasn’t had their GM make any comments on their picks.
It’s pretty embarrassing how dog crap the organization’s communications are. How do they expect anyone to care about the team when they can’t even be bothered to put out a one sentence statement about the guys they picked.

Buium slid almost 10 spots? He was pretty consistently ranked around 7 or 8. Some had him slightly higher, some had him slightly lower… going at 12 is barely “sliding” and it definitely isn’t 10 spots.

Let’s say they both show up, does that make grenier expendable as a potential asset to help land a forward?
Morin-MacKinnon Johansson-AK AFG-Mullen(doubt he signs to be the #7)
