Team on paper looks good, but a lot of guys that need to take some big steps this year, especially up front. Our D core is our biggest strength I'd say.
Gonna be a tough division overall though having to deal with Moncton, CB, Rimouski, Chicoutimi and even BC. Charlottetown and SJ can't be taken lightly either.

Frechette making it over Rushton and Cziment who both played real good is shocking. I don’t see how Frechette really takes that next step this year. Could’ve used Rushtons size.
Wouldn’t be shocked if both end up with the team at Christmas though

I would have cut Dickson before Rushton. we really needed rushtons size. We miight be able to edge SJ this season but other than that we are the worst in our division. CB, MON, RIM, BC, Sags are all better than us Islanders and Mooseheads are closer to our team but still better imo.

I think the division will be something like this Moncton Rimouski CB Chicoutimi BC Bathurst Saint John Charlottetown Quebec Halifax I think we're still better than Halifax, SJ, and Charlottetown, just not by a whole lot. Dickson proved he can be a threat, not sure I'd cut him over Rushton, but Rushton over Frechette 100%.

Islanders have way more experienced players i think they will be underrated this season. Whos the X factor this year? Belanger could be ppg and maybe Huggan but he doesnt have Orr and Roelens this year. Goguen- 35pts Belanger-50pts Huggan-55pts arsenault-25-35pts Gauthier-25-35pts Lailler-40pts Perron-50 pts Laberge- Could have monster year and get 40+ If all goes well these should be our leaders for this season.

I'd probably put them over SJ actually. It'll be a close bottom half of the division that's for sure. those points seem likely, some guys there could have bigger years than expected as well, it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Goguen, Gauthier could have bigger years than i marked. Valdor Gatineau and us could all be bottom 10 teams could make for an interesting draft and something as fans were not used to.

would like to see gauthier play himself up to line 2 by christmas or earlier I think thats likely. Lailler could be moved and could open up RW for him. Gauthier will be fun to watch grow i think he can be the best out of the guys we drafted this year.

finalized roster will likely be announced soon so this is what we're looking at. Trade period is closed outside of OA's and imports.
Huggan - Belanger - Lallier Pilgrim E- Goguen - Sharkey Arsenault - St-Onge - Dickson Rhyno - Brunet - Gauthier Peddrigrew (INJ) - Frechette - Coulombe
The forward core is undersized and young but lots of potential, I can see Gordie running all 4 lines often and guys have a chance to move up and down the lineup.
Clements - Perron Buteau - Laberge Reynolds - Daniele MacGillivray-Lazare
D core is solid all throughout, definitely our strongest point and some of these guys could have big years. Perron/Clements could bring back good value over Christmas as well depending on how we do and what the plans are.
Fleming Langevin
goaltending is a huge ?, Fleming can steal games but his career numbers haven't been the best and he got outplayed by Keller last year. Need him to be strong early. Gallant looked good in the pre-season so far however Titan bring in Langevin from Shawinigan, so we will see how he does in the backup role. Team is pretty similar to last year overall, we had more experience and strength up front where as this year it's the back end.
seems the target year to contend is when Belanger is 19, which would consist of our current core picks being 18. (Arsenault, Gauthier, Daniele)
I can see us finishing middle of the division and trading off some bigger pieces at Christmas while trying to remain somewhat competitive again. Division is much stronger this year though in terms of contenders. Either way I expect a fun year overall and I'm excited to see what a lot of these young guys can bring to the table.
Next part is to guess who wears the "C" and "A"s my picks are Huggan, Perron, Buteau, Belanger.

My "Forwards" opening night lines are something like this. Goguen Belanger Lalier. huggan Brunet sharkey. Arsenault St-Onge Gauthier. Rhyno Dickson Pilgrim-Edwards. . . Maybe some changes when Peddigrew ready , so many options we have alot of center.

Gordie can definitely get creative with the lines, a lot of guys can play in multiple roles, so it'll be interesting to see what he starts opening night with.

What about the 2 FA's Bathurst picked up yesterday in the waiver wire, are they not in the mix to be on the final roster?
