finalized roster will likely be announced soon so this is what we're looking at. Trade period is closed outside of OA's and imports. Huggan - Belanger - Lallier Pilgrim E- Goguen - Sharkey Arsenault - St-Onge - Dickson Rhyno - Brunet - Gauthier Peddrigrew (INJ) - Frechette The forward core is undersized and young but lots of potential, I can see Gordie running all 4 lines often and guys have a chance to move up and down the lineup. Clements - Perron Buteau - Laberge Reynolds - Daniele Lazare D core is solid all throughout, definitely our strongest point and some of these guys could have big years. Perron/Clements could bring back good value over Christmas as well depending on how we do and what the plans are. Fleming Gallant goaltending is a huge ?, Fleming can steal games but his career numbers haven't been the best and he got outplayed by Keller last year. Need him to be strong early. Gallant looked good in the pre-season so far and will be interesting to see how he shapes up after having a strong year in the minors last year. Team is pretty similar to last year overall, we had more experience and strength up front where as this year it's the back end. seems the target year to contend is when Belanger is 19, which would consist of our current core picks being 18. (Arsenault, Gauthier, Daniele) I can see us finishing middle of the division and trading off some bigger pieces at Christmas while trying to remain somewhat competitive again. Division is much stronger this year though in terms of contenders. Either way I expect a fun year overall and I'm excited to see what a lot of these young guys can bring to the table. Next part is to guess who wears the "C" and "A"s my picks are Huggan, Perron, Buteau, Belanger. What about the 2 FA's Bathurst picked up yesterday in the waiver wire, are they not in the mix to be on the final roster? They are both required to be on the final roster in order to be selected

I actually only realized we picked up 2 more guys AFTER making this post lol.. my apologies. That definitely throws a wrench in things if they're both on the team and then I have no idea who else gets let go. Seems MacGillivray is still here as well so we still have too many names and not enough roster slots. My guess is a lot of these young guys get sent down until Christmas maybe.

so that leaves Gallant out, Langevin in it seems.
No clue who Coulombe replaces but quite shocking to pick up a 19 YO with only 2 games of Q experience.

Very weird pick ups. id rather play our younger guys Langevin I'm fine with, small sample size last year but former 3rd rounder he can have some potential. Could be the starter next year at 19. Coulombe is definitely an interesting one, bigger frame and was good in his respective league but at 19 I'm not sure he's worth playing over one of the young guys. Rushton could've also played a similar power forward type role as well. But I trust Gordie knows what he's doing. Now for who Coulombe replaces directly, it must be one of Frechette, Rhyno, or Dickson, which if I had to choose the obvious is Frechette lol. Unless Gordie wants Rhyno playing in the minors until Christmas.

We now have 2 of Shawinigan's top 3 picks from the 2022 draft in Langevin and Brunet. Now if only they could give us Lacerte for cheap ....
