Booth got traded in fall 2020. That year was the COVID camp. Players came to camp, isolated for 14 days and then got started. Teams only invited a skeleton crew to camp and left most players home. So it was basically Maritimers and returning players who came to camp. Booth never even came to training camp. That fall, I think he and his family thought he was Q ready and looked for the trade... dealt to Shawinigan and went right into their lineup and became a stud on their blueline. We faced 17 y/o Booth in the final in 2022 and he looked great. It was great scouting on our part to pick him, and unfortunate circumstances to have needed to trade him. If a regular, normal period in history, maybe we keep him and he plays for us at 16 that year. He'd likely be traded anyway to leverage some of our deep runs. That's fair. Booth is a bad example. Still, he definitely needs to do something to restock the cupboards. we have had too many players age out since the go for it year that should have been turned into draft assets some things happened that were beyond our control ... Guay and Trudeau going pro earlier than expected... but we held onto valuable trade chips that absolutely thru hindsight provided us nothing by doing so
