Hopefully they end up with a better outcome than last time in Quebec City when they blew the 5-1 lead. That was the one last year my mother wanted to watch with me and whelp, she hasn't been interested since lol.

Very important road trip. Don't need a 0-3 record. Will be tough.

Is it possible to get English play by play on CHL TV on the Quebec road trip? If you’re watching on the app, it’s the little air quote bubble in the top right. If watching on a browser, the option should be below the screen when out of fullscreen.

I guess it's an improvement playing 1.5 periods of hockey instead of 1 🙄

For all of the discussion around Goriunov, Hughes, Ruccia, and Steen, unfortunately we are at a spot where some of these names maybe aren't suitable as 20 y/o players with our team. It's still early with Goriunov, but I'm liking what he brings to the team and think he's an OK fit. Ruccia, you can tell is a top level goaltender but he hasn't had a lot of of help. For slot #3, Steen has already left... mostly due to injury and what is mentioned....Hughes with 1-6-7 in 13 games.... he needs to show much more offensive production. On the whole, offense has been a major struggle with this hockey team. Shields started very slowly but has come on and is now 13-5-3-8. He was pointless through the first 4 games of the season. Ross Campbell is still without a goal after 10 games. Conrad has 4 points in 13 games and though he is younger, he's a player with a lot of offensive potential. Powers has 3 points in 13 games. He's not necessarily a top producer, but he did manage 30 points as an 18 y/o rookie last year. I know Caines is in his first year in the league, but he looked early to be a player with some offensive chops, but still has just 2 points on the season. I suspect that we are actively on the look out for castoffs from central Canada.... guys who are 19 and 20 and might be in tough spots with their current teams....similar to Leek. There's just not enough goals being scored and that's why we are where we are at in the standings. In about 3 weeks, were likely at a spot in the season where we have an idea if we're going to be a middle tier team or if we are going to be right at the bottom in the midst of the draft lottery. We are sellers either case, and our guys who should have trade value would include Ruccia, Kearsey, Michaud, Topilnyckyj. But after that, you really have to look closely at the players currently 18 and 19 and and make some big decisions as to whether they are key ingredients for the team in 2025-26. Our current 19 year old players are: Jardine Topilnyckyj Caines Leek Powers Who do we see in this group as suitable for 20 y/o spots next season? Our current 18 year old players are: Kearsey Butler Campbell Michaud Shields Stumpf Yuzik Who do we see in this group as top line forwards or top paring defencemen? There are some tough decisions. With Steen leaving, the defence has a little bit of a shakeup. It looks like they might keep Lemieux-Goupil around for the long haul. That's fine and good experience for him. He is big and strong and will learn at this level. But, in juggling the extra 20 y/o blueliner, we cut bait on 18 y/o Simon Duguay and sent him to Jr. A. Duguay is a player who got the full experience of being a blueliner in the Q at 17 and learned and improved a lot during that season. He's not a physical player, which some will knock him on, but he is a good skater with some mobility in his game. As an 18 y/o in Jr. A he is 1-6-7 in 9 games with Campbellton. Should Duguay be right back in the mix to be playing with this team now as an AP and as a regular again after Christmas? I guess looking at next season, are we better off with a 19 y/o Duguay who has a couple of Q seasons under his belt or a 20 y/o Jardine. Jardine currently has 0 points in 13 games after having 1 point in 28 games last season. I know he is a popular player and he has the character Jim is looking for.....but are we developing Jardine with a plan to use him as a 20 y/o player? Maybe this is he case. I'm not suggesting that because there's no offense in his game that he should be turfed....but as the focus shifts to next seaon, I'd be inclined to make efforts to invest in Duguay and get him back on the roster. Experience is a major, major factor in a players ability to play defence in the league. That is why so many younger blueliners struggle and why teams are always on the hunt for older blueliners. Let's not lose out on our investment we made in Duguay in 2023-24. 1 goal in 13 games for Hughes. Simply not good enough.

I’m game for pretty much anything at this point…except bringing back Dugay. He just can’t think the game fast enough at this level, he’s weak on his stick, etc.

Plamondon looks like a keeper on defense.

another very costly turnover by a very highly rated d man. These types of plays have resulted in 5-10 key goals this year. Like the rip it apart and rebuild option
